These LS vehicles are extremely popular on the East Coast! I do hate how some people make the vehicle look so tacky by lowering it and putting stupid stickers all over it. Keep them stock and clean. I personally love the gold emblem on the Lexus vehicles.

@@StraightClippin Maybe a little in the days when Clarkson's opinions rang strongest. He famously despised the LS400 and many people just took his word for it.

I would honestly prefer to have one of these totally stock as just a nice daily that won't break. No mods, no nothing. Just a nice v8 rwd car.

One day I was in the highschool parking lot about an hour after school, waiting to be picked up by my mom. I suddenly hear a absolutely thunderous V8, and see 5 senior kids, windows and sunroof open, blasting rap and roaring out of the parking lot in a mint white and gold 89 LS400 at easily 90+ MPH. Those idiot kids were the coolest people ever to 14 year old me. Still have no idea who any of them were to this day

i’ve wanted an ls400 for the LONGEST time, finding one that hasn’t had the muffler cut off or the diff welded is ridiculously hard. finding one with a black interior is even harder 🥹

@@350zlover2 yea idk I usually agree with these guys but the one they were saying was super ugly and rice, idk I’d buy it wrap it a gloss black, throw on some satin six spoke wheels or 5, and then I’d probably make the blinkers clear and maybe taillights and new oem headlights or aftermarket headlights. I think it would be sick and it’s sick out here in the west coast, I think it’s cuz theyre from the east coast. It wouldn’t be my only car but definitely has taste.

@lsd4free723 Lexus vehicles are big on the East Coast as well. In my city, the young guys that try to look like they have money or style drives Lexus, Mercedes, BMW or Audi. If they are not driving luxury then its Chargers and Challengers! I think it's a status symbol for alot of people.

On coil overs with gold 18” BBSs for winter/spring and 20” chrome 5 spoke Dubs for summer/fall. I also take care of my mothers 1993 LS400 with 100k miles that she still drives daily. Had a clean black interior 99 LS400 for $4500 slip from me 4 years ago and I still think about that

The first gen is 90-94, refresh in 93. The second gen is the 95-2000, refresh in 98. Here’s the thing, yes the front end on the 90-97s look better but the 98-00 has the 5 speed trans, vvti and most hp so it’s a much more spirited driving experience. Nicer interior and the cd changer is in the dash instead of the trunk as well. Just a few things I prefer about the 98-00 LS.

@@CollectorCarFeed but another benefit about non vvti (89-94) is they are non interference and have thicker rods than the vvti modles so they have less power but will be a more reliable daily

Dang I was gonna say I really like the gold badging on 90's Lexus'. It's very... period. Reminds me of those nice neighborhoods in the autumn with the leaves falling onto the perfect lawns.

We had a dark blue LS430 come into the shop last year with 380,000 miles and somehow the interior and exterior were near perfect. It was in to get a timing belt and to replace the cam seals and valve cover gaskets. Some people just want their car to run forever and I commend them for it.

My first car was a 99 GS300, and now I've got a 2000 SC300. These late 90's lexuses have treated me well and now I want an LS400 so I can get my SC built haha.

i love these cars... i have 2 of them one is a drift car the other is 100% stock

As a Lexus tech I can tell you for the gold badge the dealership had to hire someone to get that done and some dealerships didn’t offer that 😂

Out of curiosity, I checked BaT, and the guy who had that last super clean ls400 ended up posting it there and sold it for $15,999, not bad overall.

I had a 99 ls400. It was a great car. Wouldn't buy one again. Only because this market is ridiculous. Price has more than doubled since, and the quality of cars has significantly declined. But if you can find a good deal, definitely take it

i think the styling of these ls400 came from mercedes :D looks so similiar. Although the most similiar model w140 came after the ls400... i dunno.

These things can look absolutely mint when done up in a VIP fashion (really that goes for a number of 90s med/large Japanese sedans) but just like everything, they have to be done with care. Otherwise they look like shit.
