The lady behind the counter should be recognised for how she dealt with the guy, she was calm, she listened, and she offered to help, not only that, she said "Nobody is above the Law" she is a darling and a gem, if ONLY the Muppets were as helpful as her, they shpuld have her in the training school, people could learn from her... as for the Muppet Parking Warden, he needs to be Disciplined, there is NO Rule for them and a Rule for Us!!

I understand the frustration and anger from one rule for one, one rule for another. Apart from some 'necessary' exemptions, the police need to obey the law also. That police staff was nice and very professional, you can tell she is lovely soul. 10/10 for her! Best of luck in fighting the inequality between the police and the public, when it comes to laws. Hope the fine gets quashed.

Your frustration and anger are completely understandable and it's difficult to see any immediate end to this outrageous injustice. However, every time you highlight this kind of thing on KZread you are informing more and more people about the double standards that have infected most, if not all, of our public services. It would be so easy to sit at home, day after day and ignore what is happening all around us and feel too afraid to do anything positive in order to create equality in our lives. I personally thank you for all that you do and I hope you continue to be someone that eventually made a difference.

Yeah but the police can issue tickets as well so what happens is, when traffic wardens, park to issue tickets, cop's ticket them and police can give out points etc

You are right about the 24hour rule but that only applies if the vehicle remains in the same place. So if you've moved it to a different place then you are still liable to getting a new ticket even if it's within 24hours

I've been waiting to see if you go back, I am a Huddersfield resident and they always park where ever they want there, glad you're bringing a attention to it.

I understand in my town they can ticket from 00:01 to 11:59 If you are there at 11:55 they can issue a ticket and again at 00.01 I have never seen a warden after 6 pm when most of the parking restrictions end

This was Hull City Councils response to a freedom of information request concerning police parking. Not sure if it applies nationwide. All Traffic Regulation Orders allow liveried police, fire and ambulance vehicles to park where other vehicles are prohibited. In the case of the fire brigade and ambulance service, the vehicle must be attending an emergency, however marked police vehicles can park in otherwise prohibited places under any circumstances.

I can understand them not doing face to face they get hostility deserved or not, they don't need that. You are very angry, not likely to get people to listen to you when thats how you talk.

DO NOT CONTEST IT. Write in and ask for a copy of the contract signed by both parties showing you agreed to the terms & conditions. Offer to pay as soon as you receive a copy for your records. They'll write back with a link to RTA1988. Reply stating you're not challenging RTA1988 or the PCN/FPN. You simply require a copy of the contract for your records upon receipt of it, you will pay. You'll never hear from them again.

Therefore the penalty charge exceeded the amount applicable in the circumstances of the case. Appeal the second on this basis and maybe they suggest they cancel the first one as you were not aware of any restrictions on that road due to poor signage etc.
