I am a fan of Shashi Tharoor. He is basically a great intellectual. He is a distinguished writer and author of many books .He is an experienced diplomat ; worked in UN. He just missed to become Secretary General of UN ; not that he was not qualified for the job.He is an Orator in English,Malayalam and Hindi. Tharoor is very special for me as he is from Thiruvananthapuram which incidentally is my native place for nearly forty years of my prime time. But, what bothers me about Shashi Tharoor is my question whether he is an efficient politician leader. To my dismay, the answer to my question keeps coming back to me sadly in negative.

I wonder why a talk of such magnitude managed to have only less than a thousand views in 24 hours 🤕

India is not a democracy; at best it is a pseudo democracy. The people of the state want to elect Shashi Tharoor as the chief minister but he cannot be elected because Rahul Gandhi and his group of men will not nominate him. Another example. Sometime back the whole nation wanted Dr. Kalam to be their president for the second time. But Sonia Gandhi and her coterie decided otherwise. Another example today BJP is in power with just 30% plus votes. How can a minority party rule majority? In the United States they have primary elections to select the candidate. Anybody can contest and if the people elect them, then they can contest for president. Again, the president is elected by majority votes. In India it's the party decides who should be the candidate and not the people. And if you can split your adversaries, then with minority votes you can rule the country. And even if that doesn't work, you can buy a faction of the opposition to defect after the election is over; which is called horse training .This is far from democracy.
