The Leper’s Cry | Psalm 88 Explained

Psalm 88 is often regarded as one of the most sorrowful and bleak passages in the Psalms. It expresses profound despair and a sense of abandonment, with little to no glimmer of hope. The psalmist, traditionally identified as Heman the Ezrahite, pours out his anguish and feelings of being forsaken by God. The concluding word of the Psalm, "darkness," epitomizes the overall theme of despondency and hopelessness.
In moments of deep struggle, how can we hold onto faith, even when it feels like God is silent?
