Why is it trash though? Because its not long ammo? xD Lemat has a good iron side, shoots decently fast and has 9 rounds in it. And it does not need any traits. And do to its velo buff its now the fastest compact fmj rifle i belive. 415m/s with fmj is not bad. Shotgun Barrel with Slugs is also ok. And if you dont want to use it then use starshells to burn downed hunters. Frees a tool slot or the necessity to look for lamps. I like the lemat carbine, very balanced. they should instead reduce the spam factor of some other guns to bring them more in line.

I've been playing the carbine a lot since the buff and honestly I kinda love it.

This is my comfort gun. Haven't tried the Marksman yet but I think it'll be by new favorite way to play a balanced sniper

I want to like the LeMat so much, mostly just because it’s conceptually fun to have both “long” and short range in one gun, but with the Drilling I just can’t justify the LeMat carbine.

Lemat carbine with fmj is arguably more optimal than drilling with fmj with having more ammo and a more consistent fire-rate-to-recoil ratio. Especially with the velocity buff to the lemat.

Iirc it's the basic LeMat and the UpperMat that got upped to Rival Handcannon? Uppermat at least if I remember correctly.

Well... That's because it deals no damage. Edit: I literally got a headshot with it but it was too far so it was not a kill... That's why I stoped using pistol-ammo guns, except for Bornheim No3.

In fact, the muzzle velocity of most guns, the abundance of cover and the absurdity of the power of shotguns and melee weapons actually reward you for being at closer ranges. There's a reason why the Nagant Officer Carbine is the most popular "I don't know what to use" gun. Not hitting many shots? Spam with it. Hitting heads today? It can kill at close to medium ranges no problems, and the follow up is even faster than a winnie marksman.

​@@TRak598 I know about it, I just feel that long rifles with pistol ammo have no real use. Maybe they have but I can't find their point. Want to spam? Fanning will do the job done. Want to hit heads? Anything with medium or long ammo will do way better job with that. I could go for argument that LeMat have shotgun mode, combined with medium range option (or rather vice versa), but drilling tbh does same things better for me. Also at this point cost of a gun is not an issue. I would literally need to buy avtomat every game to start loosing money, but right now the numbers only grow because of how much you get for exp on acc
