We'll put the down to a slip of the tongue but I doubt that even a period correct R32 would be sharing any meanful components with the GTi-R.

I heard that and also thought bullshit. The GTiR doesn’t need to borrow reputation from the Skyline in fairness; they have always been insane cars. A hot hatch with 4WD and 0-60 in 5ish seconds is impressive even now but in the 1990’s it was super far troubling.

Zerofightervi yeah I’ve just researched it and the pulsar uses all mechanical 4wd system whereas the GTR’s use the electronically controlled Attesa

The 4WD system doesnt even resemble the skyline system in the slightest anyway. its just a basic viscous centre diff without any electronic control.

If I remember correctly the Rally org in the far east and Aus outlawed Godzilla as it won everything which led to the Sunny GTIR. Classic and love it.

Haha they were 217hp stock with 50/50 split and 60/40 weight distribution and the 4WD system is nothing alike to the R34 GTR

I had one of these back in 06 problem was I had a Evo 3 and a gc8 sti before it and it made it feel so dated to drive, also when you shut the door it sounded like a old van lol still like them though they have lots of potential

I had one for 9 years. It’s in no way based on any gtr 4wd system. Iirc it’s actually based on a tractor 4wd system and is full time 50/50 split. Awesome wee pocket rocket. Mine had around 380bhp when I sold it.

I used to own one of these, it ate gear boxes and clutches, stock internals on 20psi it held up. In the early 2000s it was still quick. I saw one here in Australia in 96 and fell in love. Downside over steer, which I fixed with sways, but then it was knife edge, drifting these at speed often happened by accident. I keep mine as stock looking as possible, they still stick out like balls though with the scoop and huge spoiler which I removed.

Please say you’ve got a starlet video lined up use to love these small beasts pulsar,starlet and lupo (with r32 swap)

I own one around 280bhp i love the car to bits its my teenage dream car they are pretty quick for the age. The brakes are crap stock so is the suspension They weigh in at around 1250kg not 800kg 🤦‍♂️
