I went to Portillo chile last year with the tenth mountain division to train with the Chilean army. We actually got to go to Portillo ski while it was closed down due to covid. It was amazing (no ski lifts though.) I didn’t know that Portillo was world famous! How lucky I was!

It does not snow in summer, it snows in winter. The summer months of the Northern hemisphere are the winter months of the Southern hemisphere.
Great skiing. The locals consider the hotel a “cruise ship” for skiers. Full week stays only. Plan your whole week for you. 😂 The sling shot is not a ride for everyone. 😅 Many great places to ski in Chile. Food, people, skiing all awesome.
