I would argue that TPA in S2 most likely has the best underdog story tbf. But DRX is very close to them.

​@@Bummulman, DRX with Kingen, Pyosik and Zeka, who were average players. a world champion Support (BeryL), and an Adc who was past his prime (Deft). They took the last spot in the LCK, with 3 very strong teams T1 DK and GenG. They went through the Play-in and won against the favorites for the title.

This DRX team really stole my heart, they had one of the strongest mentals I've ever seen, and probably the best and most incredible run of any Esport in my humble opinion, this videos was a pleasure to watch, flawless and emotional, I loved every second, good job!!:)

Yep I still remember picking EDG for Pick'em to win against DRX. Then I continue to pick Gen.G over DRX for semi-final. Then once the final came I was truly convinced DRX won't give up. And my friends thought I was a mad man to pick DRX over T1 (all my friends are T1 loyalists lol).

I scheduled a date on the night this match happened because i forgot, somehow i managed to convince her to watch at least one game with me and id explain what was going on. We ended up watching all 5 matches and i cried in front of a stranger because of a videogame. I dont talk to her anymore but that night was wild lmao.

That night was a wild night for me a my friends too. Drove over 2 hours to get to a theater that was streaming the final. Somehow the theater screen gave out during Game 5 draft (worst possible moment where the intensity is at its peak) So me and my friends ended up streaming game 5 on our phone while sitting at the theater lol.

I watched it with two of my best friend and also ended up crying in front of them.

The best story of any e sports team No questions asked. I know about a lot of the crazy old CS tourneys and apex stories and even other MOBAs But this is the greatest script ever to a championship tournament in the history of E-Sports So many individual stories for deftvfaker The old team chemistry of Keria Zeka being the foundation mid vs all of the top 5 mids in the world at the time and holding his own. Kingen in the top lane playing so well in isolation and side lane,

@@vatsalsrivastava5649 And the season before, after Keria and Chovy left the team, DRX really struggled, Pyosik stayed with the team even after being last by far, then the next season he lifted with the new roster the most prestigious trophy. Really insane story!

So let's see, what DRX had to do to win worlds 2022: 1) Qualify for worlds by defeating KT and LSB in best of 5's, both are opponents that can't be underestimated 2) Secure 1st place in Play-ins while defeating RNG 3) Secure tiebreaker from group stages by defeating other tough opponents, such as Rogue (LEC #1) and TES (LPL #2) 4) Win tiebreaker against Rogue (LEC #1) to secure 1st seed in groups 5) Reverse-sweep the defending world champions, EDG, in 5 games, especially after inhibitor trolled them hard in game 2 6) Destroy 2017 world champion GenG (Samsung Galaxy) and LCK #1 in 4 games without as much difficulty as 5) and 7), albeit still hard 7) Defeat the 3-time world champions, (SKT) T1 in 5 games, even despite Gumayusi stealing baron multiple times DRX never gave up, and never stopped fighting. They defied all odds and (almost) nobody expected them to win in the knockouts, much less become world champions. This was super well-deserved by everyone on the team.

Amazing video! I was just recently hoping that someone would make a video about DRX‘ journey including the regional gauntlet leading up to playins, glad this video got recommended to me :)

While I'm happy for Deft... Zeka and Kingen smurfed worlds... esp Zeka. He threw the whole team on his shoulders the entire tournament.

​@@santiago4444Zeka was facing the GOAT grinding for his 4th title when Kingen competed with Zeus, who was the least good player of T1 during Finals. He was overwhelmed by pressure. Hard take because Zeus is one hell of player and surely the one stomping his opponent way more than any T1 counterpart even playing godlike rn (Worlds 2023). And yes, Kingen deserved this Finals MVP but no. Zeka carrying them since regional qualifyers to play-in to stages to knock-out and even on Finals. He broke the patch every game..like insanity.

Remember, kids : never surrender. If your mental fortitude is strong enough, you can achieve the impossible. DRX had absolutely no chances of winning the Worlds. There was just no way. But they didn't care, never gave up, and they did it anyway.

I remember watching quarter finals Live Edg vs DRX and oh man, I thought in game 2 they got robbed and in game 3 the game is looking bad for them down in 4k gold, and I stopped watching I thought they would get 3-0 swept and that's unfortunate and after 1 hour or so The live is still ongoing and I looked they are in game 4 LIKE WHAAA?? they won the game 3? And continue to watch the rest, it's really a miracle run to tell the truth coming back in that 2 games lose and 3 hard game their mental is stone cold.

They wanted to stay together in DRX but the organization decided to kick Pyosik out. The other players got angry at that decision and that's why they left

DRX ceo is a known HUGE piece of sht. 1.DRX made a weird ass bl like edit of deft & chovy back in 2020 chovy was only 19 back then, his mom was furious, but the ceo went on his stream saying his "mom overreacted" & also told cvmax the coach to pressure chovy into staying but he refused to abuse his relation with chovy since chovy listens to him as past gryffin coach, that drx (doran,pyosik,chovy,deft,keria) team was so loved by fans & so loyal to deft they still wanted to comeback to this shtty org for deft but deft told them to go to better offers like T1 & GenG. all 4 left & only pyosik stayed saying he is loyal to DRX who gave him, who used to be a streamer a chance at proplay, it was cvmax who saw potential in him & gave him a spot. DRX 2020 was 2nd in lck but became 10th in 2021, pyosik bowed to ground for fans to say sorry. 2022 stove league DRX manager was saying "if i was deft i would never comeback here, deft is too forgiving" for what happened in 2020 but the ceo had the audacity to say i dont mind paying deft more but i want more "fanservice" & content. after 2022 miracle run all the members naturally had increase in salary as norm but drx refused. they still wanted to stay together with salary cut but drx kicked out pyosik the one most loyal to drx. it was already when other top teams finished their roster zeka & kingen had nowhere to go but hle pyosik legit had to leave the country deft went to damwon since canyon called him up himself, the ceo again had THE AUDACITY to say "these loosers didnt even go to a good team & ended up in end of the barrel teams" in his stream. beryl only stayed since he had 2yr contract, juhan stayed in drx but they still didnt give him a starting position, pulled another bs w.him & now he also left drx, again released so late, there's no more teams. he's out of pro-league for 2 yrs. Thank god now ALL of them left that disgusting org.
