    ZFG is always a highlight during GDQ. dude practically does GDQ on stream every day, so it’s like he’s always practicing. feels so natural, even though OoT is extremely technical.

    I swear some these Zelda glitches involve so much memory manipulation and precision that one day a speed runner will prove Ocarina of Time is Turing complete. Then another speed runner will program Ocarina of Time in Ocarina of Time.

    This already proves that it's Turing complete, at least to the extent that you can claim that about an N64. Arbitrary code execution means *arbitrary*.

    In fact it IS Turing Complete: we already have ACE on the n64 version, by multiple methods of input, so you can code anything in OOT given enough precision now.

    There are actually way fewer than 256 but because every item has a value represented with 8-Bits there are 256 possible items. Over 100 of them are glitched items

    Yikes... Don't become adult quickly... Try to hold on to your innocent inner child as long as you can, just like Young Link, you'll miss out of all the fun stuff and then have to rush it as an adult cause there's no time to catch up.

    Seriously my favorite speedrun of all time. Truly a testament to the dedication of runners to their craft. Also, while the new glitch was awesome, I'm glad they kept many other glitches in the run, even if some of them might have been made obsolete by the new glitch.

    this makes me think, I wonder if someone could use ACE for a magic trick, like they'd have someone pick a card, upload data of that card number(probably prior), then execute the code to make link's B button have the card on it. that would be pretty dope

    Console is Wii, as you can read in the top left and he is using a Gamecube-Controller.

    He was playing the GameCube port of OoT (the anniversary edition to be more precise) on the Wii, as the Wii has backwards compatibility with GameCube games. ZFG always plays with a GameCube controller.

    AGDQ isn't competitive and more of a showcase, so it's better to show off the old method in addition to the newly discovered glitches so the viewers still have something to watch, and so that the timeslot given to the runner isn't wasted

    This is super impressive and entertaining, but I can’t help struggling to keep interest whenever I try to watch OoT runs because no matter what they never resemble the vanilla run. Just kind of difficult to wrap your head around what’s even happening.

    yeah i get that, this game has become so incredibly warped over the last decade and new major glitches are still being found to this day that warp the run even more. You either had to watch the progression of the run over the years or put a lot of time into watching current runs to get an understanding. Its definitely tough to wrap your head around.

    Because Japanese is the fastest language, since it takes fewer characters to finish a sentence than English (so takes less time to get through cutscenes)
