P.S. They wasted a perfectly good plot with Merlin's time with Lynette. I don't see why she could not have popped up later, older, of course, but still carrying the memory of their time together. Maybe she would still have feelings for him, and maybe she would have moved on, but he might not be completely over her, or both. Of course, at the end of the episode, someone would sum up by saying something to the effect of there is no going back to the past, only moving forward in life, and that some choices can't be unmade. However, anyone who reaches the age Merlin is with no regrets is either the luckiest man who ever lived or is lying to himself.

Alot of those moments between the three of them. Much like Harry Potter, Hermione and Ron.

I don't know how to reconcile Val's obvious more than friendly love for Rowanne here with his pushing her into the friend zone later on. That said, her clumsy attempt to give him a mouth on kiss toward the end of the series when it was obvious his heart belonged to Aleta, made it seem like she never really matured emotionally.

If it were not for Aleta I think they would have ended up together, poor Arn though, he ended up with a broken heart and no one to mend it. At least Rowanne found someone in the end.

@@l9ino170 Maybe, maybe not. However, I would point out that Rowanne does not end up with King Michael of Northland. If you look at the end of the episode in which they stop Selena from tricking Northland and Grafton into war, King Michael seals the treaty using his own ring with the sign of the falcon, which he had given to Rowanne. At that point her development is a character is considered complete, and she has chosen to be a knight of Camelot and not queen of Northland.

@@Crusadist1099 Yeah she thought she would be with Michael but it doesn't work well. She and Arn are meant to be together. She flirted with Arn before.

I think the writers were kind of making things up as they went along, and when they wrote this they probably did not foresee where things were going to end up later in the series.

it's an American show based on an American cartoon strip. The show had great VAs like Alan Oppenheimer, Robbie Benson and Efrem Zimblast Jr and Rob Paulsen as well as live-action stars like Will Wheaton, Tim Curry, James Avery, Sean Astin and John Rhys Davies doing voice work.

Dude, the English accents you hear in most adaptations about British folk stories are also not authentic to how the people spoke back then. If they were, it'd be almost impossible to understand, since their version of English was almost like a foreign language. So how about you just stop sweating the small stuff.
