Falcom is known for Ys and Kiseki, two diametrically opposite RPG series that have earned plenty of acclaim. However, it's also delivered off-shoots like The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails, an action RPG not unlike its lesser-known Zwei series.
As a remaster of the 2012 PlayStation Portable title, Boundless Trails focuses on Nayuta, as his studies of mysterious ruins around his town lead him to an alternate world. By teaming up with Noi, he embarks on a quest to retrieve the Master Gears and stop the machinations of Zechst.
Despite its straightforward approach and characterization, this is a solid title with some fun action platforming sections, a seasonal mechanic for more challenges and some stellar remastered visuals. Well, it's much better than that Tales of Symphonia remaster from earlier this year. Glad these kind of games are getting more attention.

My copy came in today! I was surprised to get the special edition so early. I think I'm going to keep it in the box and cherish it, then play the PC version instead. :)
The art style and textures make this game look really pretty despite the obviously dated models.
I don't typically like action RPGs, but I had trouble putting this game done. It was great, even though the plot was a bit far-fetched. I should also say that the collector's edition of this game is BEAUTIFUL! One of the best from NISA.
Funny enough, if they made a Sky trilogy remake this would be a style I'd like to see. I prefer what they did for Zero or Azure, but since not all characters were seen in 3d in Cold steel Nayuta would be an excellent middle ground

Murray likely is just an Easter egg since they don't take place in the same world, like the Towa Kokonoe from Tokyo Xanadu.
This is my first time when I've ever heared about The Legend of Nayuta, that game looks awesome, world is big with 3d and 2d levels, battle system is cool, soundtracks sounds good and those character designes are beautiful. The legend of Nayuta looks awesome remakea. Am I right this is coming on next week september 19 same day with Lies of P? I'll think this might come to Nintendo Switch. 😊❤🔥🔥⚔️🌠

Anything Falcom makes is great.
Love falcom games but i don't know why these old games (ok they re remastered but not in the best way possible) are so pricey... Even on sale...
The hell is wrong with those textures? They looked very AI sharpened.
Gotta say I'm not sure what makes this a Trails game. The NPCs don't have deep storylines, it's not party-based, it's not turn-based, and it's not set in Zemuria. This just seems like a random Action-JRPG with the name Trails slapped onto it.

@@nikidelvalle I don't want to spoil anything, but it definitely has stuff in it that makes it a Trails game... Kind of like how "Y's Origin" is set like 1,000 years before the other Y's games...

@@Beavernator i like this kind of gameplay . ys origin,ark of napishtim and oath in felghana are just better than the newer Ys 3D games than makes you swap between characters which takes away the classic ys experience .

@@janky477 it's not that other games do it better it's just this game looks like a generic clone of countless games that came before it and did the same thing. Even watching the gameplay I feel like I've already played this game over thirty times before
