    T90 is the reason I play this game. Never played until watching around 10 vids. I got the game, played the campaign, and got smacked by the AI. I kept getting dogged on by normal campaign lvls and uninstalled the game, but I kept on watching T90 vids. After some 4am non-stop LEL nights, I got the game again. Now I can win some mid 600 elo games by spamming archers with Britons. So basically, thanks T90 for making me get a 50% on my exam...

    I need to see iSit add the scorched earth tactics to this strategy. After you surround the island, transport siege onagers across and just start destroying trees. Deny them the wood to build a navy, starve them out faster, and increase overall obnoxiousness by 500%

    I honestly think one reason he goes for a lot of mainland resources is just to starve the enemy faster. I saw him on black forest I think and he went for the resources closest to the enemy first, walling the enemy out. He was able to retreat as the enemy got catapults and trebs and so he still had resources when that happened. That way he could outlast them.

    The insane thing is that if iSit actually shored up the lesser qualities of his game plan (not losing random fishing ships to castles, developing his quickwall skills, getting better at crisis management), his strat might be considered "pretty good" up until even mid-elo. You could conceivably imagine him winning fairly regularly up until that point, and I think his current elo speaks to that.

  • @TheGstein

    @TheGstein

    2 жыл бұрын

    Well... it's pretty good until probably like 1100, because the enemy just has to make him put more resources into navy early and he will not get to the critical mass of ships until later. All the enemy had to do I think was after spotting the cannon galleons, spamming like 8 docks with fires or galleys.

    Isit uses an old, tried and true war strategy - Control the sea, control the war. Blue could have had unlimited resources in the middle and it still would not have mattered because Isit controlled the sea. Blue should have taken to the seas early game and blockaded Isit's starting island and the gane would have been much shorter.

    Watching iSit games vs goths is excruciating; the goth player only wants to spam infantry on the land, and doesnt contest water, and iSit refuses to contest land and only fights on water with the res from his starting island. Watching blue play a primarily water map with 1 dock just makes my blood pressure rise, like I know you know how to produce from multiple barracks, now take that and apply it to docks man

    just blatantly throwing away the relics despite having complete land control for the longest time was even worse imo Isit should realistically only have gotten 2 relics but he ignored it so he got 3, then later the last two just having 2 vs 3 relics might had given him enough income to pull through, and with just two docks in the corner he could have produced fire galleys hidden and then contest water again

    6:00 Finland here: In winter, it's dark when you go to work/school, and it's dark when you get out. Cold all of that time. Dark+warm is a combination that does not exist, because during summer it doesn't get that dark, and interestingly it isn't pitch black at night in winter either if there's lots of snow. Cloudy weather and snowy ground make everything light up (from all the artificial lighting bouncing everywhere, not escaping to the sky).

    @@DavidSmith-mt7tb Control strategies are a weird middle ground in all forms of PVP games from fighting to card games to team games, moba's and RTS games. @@kabrozkabroz best defense is a good offense. Lol. But AoE having walls and stuff does give you a bit of time to get a long term strat online. You just can't stretch it too long. But going fast castle into castle age boom is a popular strat, and walls often buy the time to do that at low cost. Once siege comes online you need units though. A castle boom can still beat a drush or feudal push because though it may slow you down, you can spend less on defense than they do on attack, allowing your eco to snowball.

He would build a million walls and never do anything and just hope that all the other players wiped each other out. He was the most passive player I have ever met and he never changed his strategy. When it gets dark in Sweden depends completely on where in Sweden you are. Sweden is a long country and in the northern parts the sun doesn't rise at all for a period during the winter. In Stockholm, the sun rise at 8:43 AM and settles at 2:48 PM in the middle of the winter, so that's about 6 hours of daylight. Southern Sweden has about 7 hours of daylight in the middle of the winter. Then it's of course reversed in the summer, with long days and short nights.

    As kid back in 2002 I would play Islands with Spanish vs 8 AI. With cheat codes, of course. And I would do the same as iSit does LOL. You wreck everything with those cannons.

    My favorite strategy, I always play it. Even on land maps, I just need some lake and put my core defense of Spanish bombard ships with castles next to the lake. Impenetrable ;)
