that was his prediction according to how Gukesh has performed before the candidates. I think his prediction was pretty good except the anomaly that is Gukesh. If Gukesh loses tomorrow it's over for him and Naka will try his best because a draw is not enough for him. I mean it's still pretty open. If Gukesh draws and someone from Nepo vs Fabi wins, it's Gukesh vs Nepo/Fabi and he won't be the favorite there. There's a lot of pressure on the top 4. I think it's gonna be decisive. Either Gukesh loses after an astonishing run or he creates history.

Gukesh has (I think) already posted the best result by a teenager at the Candidates Tourney level in Chess History. Bobby Fischer tied for 5-6th in the 1959 Bled - Zagreb - Belgrade Candidates Tournament w/ 12.5 - 15.5, at age 16 and 1/2. Fischer then scored 14 - 13 at the 1962 Curacao Candidates Tournament at age 19.

Magnus prediction is so wrong about gukesh . He must be very shocked by seeing gukesh leading the tournament. I hope he'll win today and make history

He likes Firouzja who had a disastrous tournament. Caruana was his favourite and he underestimated Gukesh. I won't be surprised if Carlsen would one day come and play Gukesh in the 2026 world championship after Gukesh took the title from Ding. Fast forwarding so much.😂😅

@@squarecutatul6834 it's a winner- takes-all tournament, so it doesn't matter what happens to other 7. He predicted hikaru and Ian to be top 2, if I remember correctly. He's not too wrong though, but he simply underestimated Indian GMs, and that's what I didn't like.
