IRAN is Most Awesome! God bless
No land, no religion, not race. He pray with his instrument. That's his worship. He had joined to the god when he played. He played from another universe. He is the music, pure music and nothing else.
Magnificent piece of work. RIP Haj Ghorban.
Do not Forget , in Shomal of Khorasan people speak in Turkish, Kurdish and Persian but the Culture, Music , religion and Custom is same!!!! They lived for several hundred together and their culture mixed together!!
@star74d : Tar means string in persian and the instruments are iranian. Do Tar have 2 strings. Se tar: 3 strings. Tar itself is king of music instruments which has 6 strings.
rohash shad ke besyar del angeez menavakht.
this is universal music, who cares about being a Persian or Turks! go look at "playing for change" and learn how they do peace via distance music. we (middle Easterns !) have to learn a lot of things from the rest of the world. enjoy the beauty plz and shut up "blueburry"
tekrar shodani nist , pure love
BEAUTIFUL ,MERCI . MARG BAR KHAMENEI .
Wow! This Dotar is so big!
great playing
WE LOVE IRAN

ALL ABOUT PERSIAN ROOTS . THANK YOU SO MUCH TO ALL.
Thanks for sharing
hunestly, playing this instrument is sooo difficult, I play guitar, I got one of this, I cant play anything on this.
If you play this with an electric guitar will sound like BB King. Sounds amazingly close to southern US blues
This is actually Turkish music, not Persian music
Im not sure about him but musics are kurmanji Im sure because i am kurmanj of khorasan and i know music of kurmanji I grew up with it God bless him God bless kurds and art of kurds

2. He didn't care about turkism or being a turk, he saw himself as a bakhsi from Khorasan and sang in the three languages that are common in Khorasan: Kurdish (Kormanji/Kurmancî), Khorasani Turkish and persian. May he rest in peace
I don't understand the discussion about it being Persian/Iranian/Turkish/Azari or whatever, why can't you just enjoy the music and the whole purpose of it which is about humanity regardless of where you come from? or whatever language you speak? Persia(name changed to Iran about 100 years ago) is a country of many cultures including Arabs, Kurds, Turks,Azaries, etc. therefore many forms of music in this country. So why bother making a pointless discussion?

0077samuel, it does mean having to adjust your mental habits to a different way of making music, but it can be done! I had that problem at first too, but now I can play a number of instruments. I learn from watching yt vids and studying their hands. Keep trying! it gets easier the more you try! :)
@llpanterll History is everything
@ardalan101 we`re talking about music and culture, NOT history!
@llpanterll Do you know what dose it mean "Do-tar", "Se-tar" , "Tar" or "Saz" ? + what language they came from? what do you think about Spanish folk music and "Guitar" (string instrument)? So, just enjoy the music. Turk can be some thing if they stop hijacking " culture, music, dance..." from other nations.
but he song both Kurdish and Turkish, I emphasize that north of Khorasan has 2 magham Turkish and Kurdish

I think that was what he was implying. He didn't say anything about what came first.
i proud of my nation TURK

persian or not persian respect each other rule of koran or you listen to your heart
Yep he is turk. But 1. this is not the saz it's dotar and it is not the key tool of turks. all string instruments derive from the tanbur nowadays played bei the ahl-i-haq kurds in iran. the tanbur was invented by the sumerians, not the mongols XD
Amazing ! TURK POWER!

of course he was depend on kurds , This Magham is kurdish Magham not turkish . be careful recognize Kurds magham from others
Persia is a massive historical oasis of culture that spread throughout the Middle East before Arabic imposition of Islam and suppression of Zoroastrianism. Anything "stolen" from other cultures could be more accurately said to be imposed. I won't go into arguments over whose music this is because such cultural rivalries are ugly.
North Khorasan music is not Turkish not Kurdish!! it is belong to North of Khorasan!! It is coming from Turkeman music and ,,,, !! You can Sing turkish or Kurdish even Persian song with it!!
