The Legacy of Emperor Haile Selassie: Ethiopia's Iconic Leader

In honor of the significant events in African history that happened in the month of May, we bring you a short history of one of Africa's most iconic historical figures, Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia.
On May 25, 1963, he helped found the Organization of African Unity (OAU) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This was a significant moment in the struggle for African unity and independence.
Additionally, on May 5, 1941, Emperor Haile Selassie returned to Addis Ababa after the country was liberated from Italian occupation during World War II.

    Emperor Haile Sellasie was one of the greatest benevolent rulers. Ethiopian history should give him right place for generations to come.
