That is most acceptable answer, my main problem with these new gen evolutions are hard to differentiate but at least most of gen 1 is easy to spot differences, but poliwrath that dude even got confused in the Spanish translation of the teal mask dlc with Kieran's dialogue

I’m gonna be honest: gen 9 likely has some of the most laziest evolutions. Like yeah, gen 1 also had some pretty lazy evolutions, but the nostalgia factor definitely saves them and I doubt Gamefreak knew what direction the game was going to be taken in.

​@davidstratton696 palafin changes form to a proper superhero form after it switches out, where finizen doesn't. It intentionally blends in with finizen until then, but it's definitely a proper evolution overall.

They could’ve given Palafin bubble glasses to reference Clark Kent wearing them, which then shift to the heroic bubble goggles it has. Maybe also give it the Hero form’s color scheme, at least

Not all Pokémon should be a hard reference and filled with ideals and iconography Some can just be well done easy concepts, like Toucannon... Is just a Tuccan but when you look at his small details you realize how it's amazing The feathers of his back are reference to a canon fuse, they took the colors of the peak and swap them with temperature marks That go hotter when he charges his signature move And the way it stands when he shoots a move is just a Cannon pose Is simple... But beautiful at the same time Same with Palafin! Is just a dolphin but that's part of his design they are meant to blend in until he transforms And his Hero form is really well designed

I like how little the Pawmi line changes because I love it. I love that Pawnot is fully evolved with good stats but is still cute and cool.

The fact that finizen and palafin look the same is the entire point of the Pokémon, palafin is supposed to blend in to hide its identity and then transform into its hero form. With bramblin and brambleghast, I’d say personally that their differences are noticeable enough, I’d rank it similarly to pidgeotto into pidgeot. And I think the pawmi line evolves similarly to the cyndiquil line, at stage 1, they’re small and cute but then stand up and got a bit more added to their designs in stage 2, stage 3 rounds out the designs with more of the concept (for pawmot it’s the fur and for typhlosion it’s the flames)

• Again, Palafin HAS to initially look the same as Finizen or it would completely kill the point of it's concept. • Gen 1 also has Dugtrio and Poliwrath. Poliwrath is just angrier Poliwhirl with muscles. Dugtrio is just three digletts, and while there are other evolutions that literally just duplication, they at least have a thematic excuse. Dugtrio doesn't. • If it helps tell them apart, Pawnot grows a collar of fur around it's neck. The easiest way to tell them, for me though, is that the tuft of fur on Pawmot's head is larger and more disheveled

And the Chikorita family is good, but that's mainly because they kinda stole their concept from the bulbasaur family. It's weird how gen 2 was very lazy in some areas but very innovative and creative others.

I think Finizen should have had little glasses designs around its eyes as a reference to Superman

me and my sis wer looking thru the paldean guide book and me, not knoing wut palafin and it’s evo looked like, thought it was a printing error…

I've just learnt that Finnizen is different from Palafin. Until this moment i thought they were exactly the same.

finizen and palafin make sense though with the superhero theme, if you compare a superhero's normal life it barely changes between becoming a superhero, just now they have superpowers

Palafin and Finizen look the same except for one minor difference, and thats the whole point. Finizen is a play on citizen, and if every citizen looks identical to one, then Palafin does an AMAZING job of blending in. You can barely tell them apart, to the untraines eye its just another Finnizen, which is kinda the point. But then it TRANSFORMS into the actual big change, the COOL pokemon, the WORTHY evolution, it becomes thw Superhero Palafin. Thats the actual pokemon, Zero form is a facade, its not the real pokemon, its just a FINNIZEN but then when it switches out, it TRANSFORMS into the actual COOL pokemon, the one with the design change and the one that should be judged. Lazy design would have been not making the Zero form at all.

1. Pawmot has more fur 2. Brambleghast is noticeably bigger 3. Finizen & Palafin...well your right on that one

It doesn’t look exactly the same though, it has a heart on its stomach. Also, it’s literally a Pokémon based around changing forms and mimicry, its base form is meant to be as unremarkable as possible. It’s the Hero Form which is the true evolution, not the disguise.

We also do have to keep in mind many real life animals (aside from invertebrates) don’t change that much as the get older so I’m honestly not surprised, not everything needs a drastic change, though zero form Palafin and pawmo though is something else

It is kinda the point having palafin who's a super hero look nearly identical to the citizen finizen cause of the whole secret identity thing not to mention that palafin isn't found in the wild so it doesn't pose much of a problem

It might be lazy but looks great when you look at it in a certain perspective the entire pawnl line is a new Pokemon doing their best they're fresh you know you haven't had time to get a cool evolution just give it some time and it looks great in my opinion because it's accurate to real evolution which is even cooler in my opinion there might have been a graphic change of evolutionary line like Eugene's gang replaced with old jeans or old DNA being replaced with new DNA are Pacific strand or part other than that it's actually a great Pokemon it makes sense which is unbelievable to hear from a Pokemon game conclusion it's a great line that's accurate to real evolution is slow.

The pawmi line is so easy to tell, and pawmo and pawmot have a lot of differences to tell the 2 apart 😂

Any other change to palafin would ruin the hero hiding among citizens point. I think it's actually pretty creative

But then it would no longer be cute. The line changes enough to be distinguishable as long as you're actually looking and not being lazy yourself. Have you ever heard anyone complain that they couldn't tell a diglet from a Dugtrio? They're exactly the same, except one has more of them. It doesn't need to be a drastic change to be good. This Pokémon just looks like it's growing up and that's okay.

I feel Palafin has the best excuse for this. Reason being Superheros like Superman. At first, they look like your average carbon-based lifeform. But, when a massive threat appears, they go away, and come back as a Superhero. Palafin is the secret identity, so they can be hidden until they can swap out and come back as a hero.

The only difference that I saw from pawmo is that pawmo has more of a pale orange color compared to pawmi and pawmot. Pawmot is easy to tell a difference because pawmot is bigger than pawmi and pawmo. Also it also has a cool hair style.

You can get Palafin by leveling a Finizen to lvl 38(?) when using the multiplayer
