I’m gonna hurt my own ego by admitting this, I completely failed all of my exam this year and I’ve attended every single class for the first semester. Thought I was going to be better off by studying alone but my brain and my own mind failed me as it didn’t go to where I hoped, throughout this summer I hope to get my shit together and learn a better way to nail all my exams because I don’t wanna be a victim to my own procrastination and exam anxiety anymore. I’ve gotten an idea on how to do this now,, up until now I’ve just straight up crammed through the first layer and then focused on the third layer . I’m gonna start spending more attention to understanding before I can focus on equations and the hard stuff. Thank you kind sir and I wish well to whoever sits on the same path as me! I will see you guys in a year or 5 months when I’m retaking my exam 💀. Bless

After you create the mind map and go onto the 2nd layer and the 3rd where you start learning more info and making recall questions, how do you make mental notes? I know in another video you said you don’t utilize flashcards because you find it more helpful to open the book or the material and make yourself look back at a more thorough answer. Some of the concepts I am learning require me to memorize lab values to understand or anticipate certain conditions. Would I place that in the 1st layer when I create my mind map? For example would I say potassium normal range is 3.5-5.0 so it’s there on my mind map? Or if I’m learning about a certain medication and I want to really understand side effects and mechanism of action, where would those notes go? Would that be included in my 3rd layer? I guess I’m just confused as to how you remember? Do you make mental notes? Do all you have to look back on is the mind map and recall questions? Thank you!

Couldn’t help but notice that when you were on the computer on split screen, your notes on the left were very artistic and clearly not mind maps. Will you do a video about how you make those notes? Lastly using a program like Remnote or others you can make your questions into cards with answers and do active intermittent recall with the ones you got wrong coming up periodically.

I love this! Is there any way, or potential, for you to create a Google Doc with this info typed out? (General steps, definitions of those steps, and examples)

Also, looking at your complicated study material makes my study material look like baby stuff and easy with massive pictures and big text compared to your university stuff so that makes me motivated even more XD

I did this shiit instinctively using chat gpt on the day before the exams and I thought I was being delusional because no one did it in my reality and it was too easy. Thank you for the video, I started to overcomplicate things because I didn't know what I was doing

Recalling is the most energy consuming, it exhausted me so much and fast, even if without realizing, I am kind of person that unconciously memorizing through recalling, and that's why it's hard for me to study more than half an hour.
