The Laundry Pod Review & Wash Demonstration! Great For Wool / Silk / Delicates!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I was given this laundry pod as a gift. I probably wouldn't have purchased one of these myself. But, now that I've tried a few washes through it, I've decided it is very useful. I always hand wash my merino wool and silk, and this makes washing a bit easier and also spin dries my clothes!

    I had the Panda washer and spinner, although it was electric, it worked about the same way. I used the rinse water, which usually had a bit of fabric softener in it, to wash the next load. I tried to wash 2-3 loads per 7-9 days, consisting of towels, undergarments, and regular clothes.

    I have used this it is great, tip on drying I have a dehumidifier closed off my bathroom to dry clothes. They dry in one hour; also I live in a pretty humid state. This still never affected my drying time one hour on the dot. Where the air is sucked in you can put a bounce sheet your clothes smell great. Many Blessings Mea 🙏💜

    Looks like great idea for delicates and occasional item. Love fact is as eco friendly as can be. I saw a foot pump type on a narrowboat vlog so started Googling . Looks like the spin drying element definitely makes it superior to hand washing in conventional manner which if being honest haven’t done for years. Take care

    I really like that product U-Save on the electric bill. My mother bought me and apartment size washer that you wash on one side move the laundry over and it spin drys on the other side. It does not take much water or electric I hang up my clothes in the bathroom and they are dry within an hour or so. I live in an apartment and gotten sick and it was too hard to go to the laundromat which I didn't like to do anyway and I can just pull up a chair sit and watch the laundry wash move it to the other side and spin it out. If it had been me washing it I would have bought one like yours.

    I got mine for emergency use or travelling at home. We live in a cyclone prone area. I will do all my washing prior to a cyclone hitting, in my washing machine. After an event, this comes in handy to wash clothes daily, especially not knowing when the power will come back on. Outside of those two uses, it is great for fine underwear and nighties. Great to use during a drought or for all hand washing. A non slip rubber mat underneath keeps the little sucker from sliding around.

    Thanks for the kind words. This machine really is great! I still use my washing machine sometimes, but, rarely! I find this faster and easier, especially since most my clothing is wool to begin. It really saves money on detergent too! I use about a spoon full as compared to like a quarter cup in the regular wash machine. The stuff I use is called, "The Laundress Wool & Cashmere Shampoo Cedar". You can find it on Amazon or give it a Google search and can find it sold other places as well! Also, if you were talking about the laundry pod itself, just search, "The Laundry Pod", on Amazon or Google.

    Sorry I didn't show that. It does depend, of course, how dirty the clothes are. This will not wash a ton at a time, but, it does a great job for small loads. If something is super dirty, you may want to wash twice (wash once with soap, empty as good as you can, wash again with soap, then do a couple rinses and drying spins). Any natural stuff like dirt has come off no problem for me. Of course, less soiled clothing cleans much faster and easier.

    You're supposed to spin one way, then spin the other way. That mimics the action of a regular automatic washing machine. I don't know how big your sink is but I put mine down in the sink so it is held still and doesn't try to wobble around as I spin it. This is an excellent gadget if you know how to use it properly.

    Advice, to keep your clothes from any damaged, before putting in regular washer, take a pillowcase with zipper, put your bras, silk shirts and or other items inside the pillowcase, and put inside the washer! For sure your clothes will be safe! That's what I do with my clorhes! Oh, by the way, this Pod Washer won't work for me, do to Arm and hand injury!

    A larger version would be cool for RV or even home use. But I do like this version for summer camping where clothes are smaller and they dry fast on a line.

    So why don't I just get a 5-gallon salad spinner?

  • @earthling1984

    @earthling1984

    You probably could. That is what I like about this over just washing in the sink. The washing is nice. But, the spin dry is what makes the difference. Wash in sink then use a salad spinner would work great too. Just make sure to get a very strong salad spinner. They are made for lightweight greens. Wet clothes are much heavier.

    shocking that you need less laundry detergent in a tiny container compared to a washing machine with 10 times the capacity :D

    I don't mean this in a disrespectful way, but when you say, "Look at all the suds in there, it'll get all over everything and get clean". Please know, it's not the suds that clean, and a lot of bubbles is actually a chemical used that produces a lot of bubbles, not an actual cleaning factor. You don't actually need a lot of bubbles to clean well. But many people wrongly associate "more bubbles" = "better cleaning", when it isn't. But that is what the commercial soap/detergent companies have programmed us to think. Again, not trying to be rude, I just wanted to point that out so that you knew.

  • @earthling1984

    @earthling1984

    I already know that. The point was simply that you can see the soap is mixed in well everywhere. I only use natural shampoos and soaps. They don't make suds like store bought crappy chemical soaps. But, really doesn't matter. Just showing this cool washing gadget and showing that it mixes everything up very well.

    My apologies. As I said, I didn't mean any offense by it, and wasn't trying to be rude. Not everyone knows that the amount of bubbles doesn't mean how well it cleans. I love the video, and I agree that it's an awesome product!

    You do NOT need 1/4 cup of detergent in your washing machine. No one needs that much.

    I would have some concern that if the water did not cover the clothes, that the fabric on top would just ride around and not get any water movement, and therefore not get clean. For as little water as it takes, I think that covering the clothes is necessary. But follow the instructions. Additionally, he said he likes to soak the clothes, but that would be of little use if part of the clothes were not in the water.

    Depends on who you are. I wear the same clothes (well, I have about 3 sets I switch off between) every day. So, I can wear the same pants and over shirt for 2 days. Under clothing for a day. Since I don't wear a huge variety of clothing this works great for me. I have a video called, "I wear the same clothes every day. Why". You should check it out!

    Dude. The water isn’t even covering ur clothing. All your doing is making bubbles. There no water to soak in??? Why don’t you be REALLY DARING and use 2 PITCHERS of water. I bet your clothes would be even cleaner. You would get rid of even more soap residue.
