It took him to draw his whole deck, so... I don't really have a problem with it. I can get behind that. If you're gonna do a combo, it better be worth it, yo!

Didn't need the Bring It On for the combo to work like it did. Radiant is 2 mana. Spellstone is then 6. Resurrects another radiant. The clone thingamabobs cost 1 mana each which adds up to 10. Mind Blasts both cost zero.

Firebat SHOULD have been expecting to do 96 damage, because he had 2 mana left over after dealing 96 damage and one radiant elemental was discounted by Bring It On. The full combo does 96 damage.

Dang i forgot spellstone was 4 DIFFERENT minions.

Me too, I kept saying to myself that the combo looks cool, but how does he guarantee he gets back Prophet Valeen (and radiant elemental) having played so many cycle minions. Then when he was looking at the spellstone later I was like oh... its 4 different minions. I actually never used and rarely fought the card so I didn't forget it was different, but rather didn't know this at all. Its funny Trump was fighting mindblast priest the other day and assumed its maximum burst was 19 damage, guess he didn't know about the Spellstone- Valeen- Vivid Nightmare Combo.

For the standard mindblast priest that doesn't run velen, the maximum burst IS 19 damage, with 3 mind blasts and 2 anduin hero powers. This is a velen otk priest that aims to burst the opponent down from full hp. The two are completely different decks.

What's more important to have in the deck bloodmage thalnos or Anduin? I don't have enough dust for both. I also have malygos for a replacement of anduin.

First game with the deck, queues into the one guy in NA playing dead man's hand.

This is like tier 3 deck, but it's really fun when it works

Then you run into Spiteful-Priest, he plays Free from Amber, gets Lich King, plays Death Grip and takes your Velen and you have no wincondition.

Neat deck, really showcases the power of being able to control what gets resurrected.

that warrior didn't armour up properly. or tank up might be more correct. he have to expect the casual 96 dmg.

I've been playing a similar deck, but you let velen die then on a ten mana turn try and discover him to reincarnate for 4, then radiant and double twilight into mindblast. If the discover doesn't hit him u can still try with the other one, or discover more with shadow visions

I was wondering if anyone was running the Eternal Servitude with this or similar combo, guess its more restrictive than spell-stone in some ways, but much less set up. Is running both just not good due to too many resurrect effects clogging up deck until otk?

I've been playing that version, and it's been working fairly well for me. Around 60% winrate over the last days. I usually try not to use the radiant except for the combo, so that I have a 100% chance of getting Velen. Then it's at least 40 damage: Radiant elemental (2) + Eternal servitude (3) + Vivid nightmare (2) x 2 + Mind blast (1) = 40 (9 mana). With two radiant elementals, you get to 40. There are alternatives with 2 velen where each mindblast hits for 20. hsreplay.net/decks/VaE3d334z0MnMNjglq67jc/

Hi, i play almost the same deck, but whit eternal servitude. U keep the raidian in ur hand till u have all combo peaces, than u play servitude 3 mana vivid/vivid 4 mana and u have 1 mana for a 40 dmg mindblast. If ur oponent has a ton of shield u can also go 2 raidian 2 servitude 2 vivid 2 mindblast thats 160 dmg :)) sry for my bad english :*

So since the damage on mindblast is 48 with 3 velens and a thalinos it means that spell dmg is counted first right? (5+1)x2x2x2

mcfam actually its pretty easy - your survivability against aggro is good with spirit lash combos (velen, the 3 cost spell that brings back thalnos) and the amount of cycle means u beat control pretty often

You could keep a shadow word death to kill it off, so as long as you don't die... you'd win an unfavorable mathchup. What would be bad is radiant ele getting transformed, and bad tempo against this deck changes almost nothing if you kill their combo. Sometimes the priest could still pull a win with just one spellstone and enough damage over the game i guess, but more so against mage, because of less healing.

This deck works IF valen doesnt get polymorphed/hexed/Mind controlled OR any minions die on your side other than your 4 combo pieces. Lots of counters

You don't have to have a radiant in hand for the combo to work, just one that died. Spellstone (7), vivid radiant (2, the radiant from spellstone reduces the cost) , vivid Velen (1), double mind blast (0). That comes out to 10 mana and 40 damage, if thalnos died 48. Makes it a lot better because you dont have to hold a radiant for combo, you can just play them both for tempo. I climbed from rank 15 to rank 4 with this deck, that's not very impressive but it does prove the deck can work sometimes.

Well he knew his opponent was deadman's hand warrior so more than 48 total might be necessary and the tempo was not. By holding the radiant he could use both Vivid Nightmares on the Prophet Velen, which allowed him to do double that damage and be fairly certain his opponent couldn't armor out of range. Still, this explains why he thought he would do 40 with combo (since I think he forgot about spell damage).

In this specific case he did need the other radiant in hand so he could afford to play both Vivid Nightmares on Velen.

This deck is so cool, havent seen any other streamers play it.

There are plenty of streamers playing this deck. The Velen OTK potential was called the day Vivid Nightmare was revealed, it's the most obvious target.

I was playing a deck last month that was a cross between this and resurrect priest. Use Barnes and shadow essence to cheat out malygos and velen, keep bringing them back with spellstones and eternal servitude, eventually you just assemble enough spell damage to mind blast or spite them into oblivion. Fourth minion was gargoyle for extra mana and more fuel for spellstones, which were guaranteed to summon both velen and malygos once fully powered. Most of the cards are still in standard but without Barnes it seems very difficult for priest to support that kind of playstyle still, you should probably limit yourself to just one big minion. This current combo is probably way, way more consistent but you could experiment with jamming a malygos in there somewhere if you really wanted to. Doesn't seem great as part of a big combo but might allow you to do something similar to the above where you just happen to find enough damage at some point to win.

Thalnos is spell power as well as draw so he increases your reach when you do the combo.

They kinda don't. What did you have in mind? I know a lot of classic cards are putting in work here but obviously they're mostly doing it on the backs of the expansions. Like no class has terrible classic cards but priest's are mostly pretty situational and the class really suffered until GvG as a result.

This video shows only that their classic cards have combo potential WITH the right cards from expansions. Or are you referring to his ability to draw and survive using power-word shield, power-word death, and holy nova. But that is only three classic cards, which mostly depend on their being sufficient removal spells in the expansions to make a good control or combo deck. Less than half the deck is classic priest cards and only one of the combo pieces (prophet Valeen).

I think that's broken - if velen is supposed to double what's on the card, it should double the original card, not the buffed imo

Hahahahaaahaahaa That's why he only plays 4 different minions in the deck. The spellstone resurrects 4 different minions, so when it's fully powered it takes out the chance of not getting Velen.

The only minions in the deck are Velen, Loot Hoarder, Elemental, and Thalnos. The spellstone summons 4 different minions that have died this game, as in 4 minions with no duplicates allowed. You cannot miss Velen if the Spellstone is properly upgraded.
