    We have the Eufy 1080p wireless doorbell with the chime unit with SD Card storage. Its been faultless. Great picture and sound and no lag. Can't help but feel this was very pro-Ring. Eufy doesn't charge fees for storage, and the articel stated the highest price (£179.99 for the 2K doorbell with homebase) but it is regularly cheaper than that (often around £130). Eufy all day, every day for me.

    thanks I appreciated this info. Being totally new to doorbell security cameras I didn't even know of any besides the ring but REALLY disliked no local storing and them having a fee. Going to get the Eufy 1080p shortly and a 256gb micro sd and call it a day.

    Yeah, that whole issue of both, “owning,” your own data, and not paying for a damned thing once you’ve bought a product was key for me. I don’t let any company get their hooks into me. Treat any company that wants an ongoing, “relationship,” with deep suspicion, if you want a carefree life. The last thing you’d need, if you were presenting video of a burglar or door to door conman to a court, would be a large company arguing over whether you, “own,” that data, or have the right to use it!

    This is the second home in which kzread.infoUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU we've replaced our "regular" doorbell with a Ring video doorbell and we really enjoy it. It is very easy to install and it works very well, with a clear picture through the app and good in-home use (we added the chime, which is also easy to install and doesn't require another thought to use).

    Eufy does not have a audio delay if you connect it to the Homebase 2. This was a unfair comparison because the presenter wired it up via a Router which is not required and appeared to cause the lag.

    I have the battery Eufy unit which can also be wired to the mains. Mine’s wired via an inexpensive mains adaptor which keeps the battery topped up without having to charge it manually, also the Homebase is able to store around 3 months worth of video with it’s 16Gb of storage space. I agree about the lag when speaking, but for the amount of times I use it to talk I’m happy with it.

    I got the wired version of the Eufy Doorbell. I recommend the wired versions it way more responsive and don't need to worry about battery life. Very good 2k video quality. I've also connected it to echo dots that can act as a chime as well. The only con is that I do get a few false motion detection every now and then.

    I’m a Eufy user and purchased during Black Friday so it came out cheaper than Ring. Reason for going Eufy is I didn’t fancy being hooked with a forever subscription like Ring to have video storage and it can be integrated with Echo devices so they act as extra chimes around the house. I would say that battery life for me lasts around the 2 month mark, but that could be down to foot traffic outside the house tripping off the sensor and it differentiating if it’s a person and starts to record or just a car driving past on the roads.

Have been on Ring Support and loads of fora and tried EVERYTHING. Have VM 350 megabit internet with at least 100 by the doorbell. All Ring do is end up sending me yet another replacement. Now using a 10 quid chime doorbell from Amazon and it's great. When I get fed up with the 50 different chimes I'll have a look at the Nest hello.

    I've had both the Ring (Pro) and the Eufy, although my mains-powered Eufy doesn't have - or need - any massive 'homebase unit'. It has only the wireless chime that you can plug in pretty much wherever you need it. The difference between the two is quite clear. The Eufy has noticeably better video quality and - unlike the Ring - the videos it records are stored on the unit itself - so you don't need pay Amazon for the rest of your life in order to view them. It's really a no-brainer.

  • @notsurfsup

    @notsurfsup

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@bradley2427 It's still working as well as ever. In fact, I now have two of them. The only slight advantage that Ring models have over the Eufy is actually the flip-side to the advantage that the Eufy has over the Ring - aside from the superior video resolution of the Eufy, that is. The recordings made by the Eufy are stored on an internal memory chip, so no cloud storage fees are payable. The disadvantage of that arrangement is that an intruder, for example, who suddenly realises they're being recorded could wrench the unit off the wall or otherwise destroy it - along with the recording stored inside it. So if the security of the recordings is paramount, you may be prepared to pay the ongoing Ring subscription charge to always be able to access them after an incident. If not, the Eufy is definitely the one to go for.

I'd only ever use one that stored videos locally, and I didn't need to connect it to any corporations servers. So, basically I could just set up a CCTV camera instead, that way I know its secure from these corporations.

With storage prices coming down all the time you shouldn't pay perpetually for fixed 30 days of storage.

But for a new appartement or house, why on earth would you not build that with a decent door, modern, smart doorbell in the first place ? Something like a Doorbird for example ? Or Hikvision. Those 3 doorbells tested there are really only stop gaps. And the only one that can be considered in that case is the Ring. Also, a Nest one should also have been included in that comparison.

    OUR RING DOORBELL HAS NEVER WORKED!! Our Ring Doorbell has never worked properly, from the day we had it fitted with all the cameras, by the professional team at Currys PC World, to this day 5 years later! I have called and called their Customer Support Team and have had one excuse after another… so we have bought other add ons, such as the solar panel at a cost to ourselves and had new batteries sent to us for free by Ring customer service, we have spent hours messing about on the phone with their Tech team with the app, altering the settings and re-setting the device… but it has never worked for longer than a day or two without runing out of battery, so we could use it when we go away ... basically how they advertise it to be on TV! We first noticed when our neighbors popped round, as they had pressed the doorbell, expecting it to work, but it didn’t. I explained all of the problems we had been having with it, so we naturally compared ours to theirs, as they had recently bought the same Ring doorbell and said theirs worked perfectly! So after being stalled and stalled by the customer service staff and sent new batteries and buying add ons… etc… to try to make the stupid thing work, we forgot about it… and just got on with our lives without the Ring doorbell! But every now and then, it would bug me that we spent all this money on a glorified doorbell that had NEVER worked, when a normal doorbell would just let us know when people were there... waiting at the door, so I put our normal doorbell back up out front with a sign saying that one didn’t work! So I called again this morning, so see if ANYONE could shed any light on it... fix it or just help me get this stupid thing working…. and I was told this morning (FIVE YEARS LATER!!!)...that: “Its probably a hardware issue and we would need to replace the whole thing” … but naturally as its taken sooooooooo long to get to this point after hours and months and years of disappointment… there’s nothing they could do to fix it as it as its now out of warranty! “However …I will send you a discount code so you can buy another one with some discount!! When I asked the customer service agent WHY on gods green earth I would EVER want to buy another one, when this one had never worked? His answer was “ I guarantee this next one will work madam, you just had faulty hardware” …So HOW can you guarantee THIS next one wouldn’t be faulty? Totally mental conversations... wastnig literally years of my life trying to fix this thing that I was told this morning, could just be a faulty one! SO WHY DIDNT THEY SAY THIS EARLIER?????? So Frustrating and a ridiculous guarantee when I was just hoping it would have worked the first time... like when we originally bought it! I will not waste any more time, energy or money on this product!!! I really feel like the CS staff just postponed my complaints and asked me to wait whilst they sent me batteries and then to wait to see if they worked... was all a rouse' to make it out of warranty so they didnt have to send me another one! I know my neighbours works... but Im not going to chance it... TOTAL WASTE OF TIME DONT BUY IT!
