The last train to Folkestone Harbour .. 12th April 2008 (?)
Tangmere 34067 Brings the "Golden Arrow" railtour on 12 April 2008 from Taunton into Folkestone harbour, then on a trip up and down the incline, then finally out over the detonators for an emotional departure of possibly the last passenger train ever on the branch.

Thanks for sharing this. A very sad occasion indeed, and another piece of heritage lost for future generations.
A great video of a sad occsion. Great Filming, well done.
i was on this railtour and i loved every min of it
a superb video of a sad occasion.
its the last steam train (so far) - it was to be the last train full stop but when the closure notice was formally announced a few days later, EWS (who run the orient express which stables down at the harbour) objected. Its likely to close in the next few years.
nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo i love folkestone harbour its such a waste to demolish it RIP it really puts a tear in your eye
A good job I added "?" to the title !!! It was the last passenger carrying train at least !!! .. but then again, what is the definition of a "train" ... is a light engine a "train" !!!???
The only thing wrong here is that the 67 is the first loco to appear.
For those who don`t know.. this turned out not to be the last train at all !!! .. or even the last day of trains !
One of the steepest, yes; though now, it really does look like it is closing :(
isn't this meant to be the steepest bit of track in the country? I heard trains often had several attempts to get the train up there. Maybe that's utter rubbish..
