I'm jealous! A great aviation moment, glad you had fun.
Oh i wish i could of came!!! Looks Fantastic!!!
I maintained and flew on Qantas 747-200,300,400's I love each and every 747 dearly. Each one has its own personality that you can feel when you enter them. Every time I see a a doco or photo of a boneyard it makes me feel very empty inside but I guess they are with each other when that end comes. When I am anywhere in the world now at large airports I think of the airport like a pub for the planes they drop in have a drink and off they go again makes me happy to see them with a few buddies around them in nearby stands to have a chat with. Thank god there is still a demand for the 747-800F and they will be still flying whilst the A380 will be all but gone from the skies is the next 5 to 10 years

I love that - the airport is a “pub for planes”. Great description 🍺 ✈️👍
thanks for sharing stef,looks great,wish i could attend this year
Awesome video! 1:17 I was standing on the other side of the white car filming the AirAsia A330 taxi into the gate too. My hat blew away because of the wind Lol. Really glad that you enjoyed the airshow too. The heat could have been worse and the airshow wasn't too busy.

@@alexkoch8716 yeah that was me!!! One of the people working at the airshow went to get the hat back which was nice. The wind from the A330's engines were still very satisfying. at 1:17 you can still see me behind the white car on the left with the hat flying away Lol

Was great to meet you Stef! Been hoping to bump into you at Moorabbin but it was at Avalon instead! Great chat, you have inspired me and helped me throughout my PPL the past year. Keep up the great content! Looking forward to your special flight later this year ;) Glad I was there when you got the news! (no spoilers of course!)
Cracking video. Great stuff. I worked At the Conference Centre for the trade week (3rd Airshow on end) before becoming a spectator for the Friday night. It never gets tiresome.

Yeah sadly by the end of 2020 they’re scheduled to be replaced, mainly by the 787s. Thanks for watching 👍

Stefan, All those people who met you are a tribute to your genuiness (is that a word?) I would have loved to fly down under, but my arms would get too tired (BaaBoom). February 30..EHH ( living 20 minutes from the Canadian border one picks up their colloquialisms. I almost cringed when those stealth fighter did a fly by, remind me to keep out of their way....scary! Cheers, from the land Up Over, Rik Spector
Yay I was on the vlog. At the meet and greet. Great to meet you stefan
It will be a sad day to see the final Qantas 747 go. The 747 at Avalon lord howle island was actually the 747 I got upgraded on from LAX-SYD now that’s a flight I’ll never forget!

Did you fly in on the 747? That’s way cool, I was really hoping to do that, missed out this time. KJN was there earlier in the week but not over the weekend unfortunately. I’m thinking I might bring a Cirrus along for 2022, got a few plans so let’s see how we go. Hope you had a great day at the show, and enjoy today if you’re back.

I did. Back home north today. Sunscreen & wide brimmed hat for all .. we seen more than done distressed person yesterday. Was still 37 deg when we left. We departed via the new International terminal which was great .. except for the 100ml rule. Many a sunscreen 'taken' but then returned in Sydney via QF. The beer on board goung back went down veeery well lol. Great crew who donated their time for the day. Thanks for the videos.

Sad to see the 747s go after all these years. My last plane flight was in a 747 to Antarctica and back in 2001, and I had the front seat at the pointy end. 🙂 Enjoying the Avalon videos. 👍🏻

Wow that would have been a fun trip. Definitely something I’d love to do one day. Thanks Peter 👍
Love the 747 Stef. I was at the Qantas Jet base when the direct flight from London arrived (all those years ago) and we all trooped on board and it smelt like a new car as nearly all the seats were still covered in plastic.In the cockpit I met the guy from Boeing who was on the flight and he was checking fuel figures etc off the FMS...it will be sad to seem them depart Qantas but what a great idea for the drought stricken farmers ( of which I am almost becoming one up here in the High Country of Victoria!)
Ended up binge watching your videos instead of studying for my physics final 😅

I wish I saw your previous video before I want to the airshow yesterday, I could’ve met you😔 Oh well. Plus, it was my first airshow, and it was freaking awesome! Also is it just me or does the F-35 look like a tiny F-22

Thank you, there will be more meetups in the future, hope to see you at the next one.
Hey Stefan, I came past the Meet & Greet a couple times but each time you had so many people wanting to say Hi and there was just so much going on, that I got drawn away. The 747 flight was fantastic. Qantas announced on the way home the day had raised around $132,000 for the Drought Relief. In the Auction, the 747 Sim for 2 hours went for $2300. The heat was a bit hard at times, but what the hell, we were at the biggest Australian Air Show.
I have worked around that AirAsia plane at Perth airport 😊
Oh wow that’s me in AAFC uniform putting my phone back into my pocket😂 5:01. too bad I didn’t notice you stef I would’ve said hi.

Wouldn't it be great if Qantas bought a whole bunch of 747-8's to replace the old ones but i guess profits are more important than nostalgia, and yes i get it too. Would love to see you fly with Michael at some point. Thanks mate.

It's not the last Qantas 747. Misleading title and clickbait.
@nankervisj
5 жыл бұрын
Not really, says "Last Qantas 747 At Avalon" which is quite accurate because this is the last time a QF 747 will be there as they will all be gone before the next airshow comes around.
@NoTaboos

@@nankervisj No; it says "THE Last Qantas 747..." Gives a different impression entirely.
@nankervisj
5 жыл бұрын
@@NoTaboos Whatever floats your boat I guess..... If you continue reading it does proceed to say "At Avalon" which renders the statement correct in my eyes, and I am quite particular with the English language. As there is nothing but a space separating "The Last Qantas 747" and "At Avalon" it does imply that Stef is talking about it being the last time they will be at Avalon, not the last Qantas 747 in general.

Not trying to be clickbaity - as nankervisj says the title does say "at Avalon". It's sad it's the last time we'll see a QF 747 at the airshow, but by 2021 (next Avalon Airshow) Qantas won't be flying them so I think the title holds up. But appreciate the feedback as always. Thanks for watching.
