also known as recut trailers, involve collecting multiple pieces of film footage from one or multiple movies and editing them to create a new trailer. Trailer mashups are often created for a movie that does not exist now or to change the genre of an existing film. These are derivative works as defined by the United States Copyright Act 17 U.S.C. § 101, and as such, may find protection from copyright claims under the doctrine of fair use.
The trailer mashups are not only a user generated form of digital creativity but a way to create anticipation for future releases, working in tandem with current movie trailers. Movie trailers are designed to give minimal plot detail and to create hype and anticipation. Fan made trailer mashups allow the audience to perform their own cinematic spin on current movie footage. This allows the trailer to focus on a specific actor or portion of the film. It could even change the plot or genre of the film entirely.

The Last of Us is an upcoming American post-apocalyptic drama television series set to air on HBO. Based on the 2013 video game of the same name developed by Naughty Dog, the series will follow Joel (Pedro Pascal), a smuggler tasked with escorting the teenage Ellie (Bella Ramsey) across a post-apocalyptic United States. It will feature Gabriel Luna as Joel's younger brother Tommy, Merle Dandridge as resistance leader Marlene, and Anna Torv as Joel's smuggler partner Tess.
The series, said to be the largest television production in Canadian history, was filmed in Alberta from July 2021 to June 2022. It is the first HBO series to be based on a video game, and is a joint production by Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions, Naughty Dog, The Mighty Mint, and Word Games. The first season will consist of nine episodes written by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann; the latter wrote and directed the game. Original game composer Gustavo Santaolalla will compose the score. The series is set to debut on January 15, 2023. The Last of Us trailer, The Last of Us official trailer. Yessss. I'm so glad that Neil Druckmann is taking part in directing the show 🥰 It's his game so I have high hopes that he wouldn't allow them to butcher his story like AMC did with Walking Dead

the voice acting is phenomenal, i legit thought the sound was from the game. im not so sure about the casting for ellie but i have faith in druckman and i am so fucking excited for this series. i also fucking love that they used gustavos songs for the tv show, it makes it feel so familiar

Both Joel and Ellie aren't Joel and Ellie and thats my biggest issue going into this.
The voices sound impeccable. I would’ve been fine with the cast not trying to sound like the voice actors/actresses, but holy hell it’s cool that they did.

This trailer is amazing. Simple fact they put out voice clips from pivotal moments in the game everyone who played it know it and live it is like awesome. Shit is going down. And the ones who never the last of us. Are wondering wtf is going on. Perfect trailer. Keeps the fans happy and the new people wondering.

The first game was epic. The second game was long, but far from epic. It road on the success and appeal of the first game. If it were its own property, most of us would not have heard about the second game. Neil took way too many chances with creating a story or rather theme that pokes at all of our negative emotions just as a way of getting the most rise from the players. He forgot that less is more. He also took way too many chances by sticking his personal politics into the second game. The second game doesn't hold anything to the first. HBO has their hands full trying to match the near perfection of the first game. I don't think they'll succeed with this. The bar is too high. The second game plays out like any woke crap that Netflix Originals keeps popping out.

U have me interested. The thing is. What made the game so great was that u experienced the story in some personal ways that u never saw in a game back then. The slight changes to the shooter gameplay, the graphics. The optional world and character building. It even has a cute little twist that ties gameplay with narrative. And is kind of a cute wink from the creators known for making linear stories that struggles with ludo narrative. This game has such a special place in people's hearts. But I just don't think this will touch anything other than nostalgia too me. It'll feel like watching a let's play, with no one to commentate. And I'm not sure if I will consider that to be the better experience.

I'm sure this will be cool to show grandmas or people who need "proof" to know that "videogames are art." But newsflash. The definition of art is a thing with flaws made by humans to trigger an emotion. Technically the "art" of writing this right now is art. I really have no I'll will to the cast. I guess Im just upset that this will be either a cookie cutter zombie show that's super faithful, and thusly a lesser version than the groundbreaking PS3 title. Or it'll do something different and odds are become another brand of generic "walking dead" type beat. I want it to succeed. But I just don't see a snowballs chance.

I heard season one is doing the first game in its entirety, with season 2 doing the second. It can totally work. The first game, if played straight without any treasure hunting or exploration, can be finished in 9-10 hours easy. That’s 10 or 11 episodes an hour each, with the 11th being the Left Behind DLC that they hinted at. I think it can work.
I don't remember the part when Ellie & Joel fell into a giant blender and came out looking like that

They waited tad bit too long to make this series in my opinion. Gerard Butler as Joel and Mckenna Grace as Ellie would have been perfect. I wonder how the casting team came up with this version of Ellie. That being said I really hope Pascal and Ramsey can pull it off, tough luck being Ellie if its anything similar to the game plot.

@@NanocDark99 Tarantino’s films are over the top. Red dead has humor but it’s always been rockstar’s more grounded series compared to GTA and other games. Red Dead is about the main character going through a redemption and it’s a more emotional story. It’s just something I don’t see Tarantino doing. Plus it will never happen because big directors avoid video-game adaptations like a plague.
