This game broke me it the best game I’ve ever played no game has ever done this to me so underrated I love it ❤️

These two games together hit harder than any brick or bottle could. How you love the characters in the first one and get your heart broken in the first hour of the second. It all resonates with me for how real it is because there's a deep connection with humanity, the best it has to offer and the ugliest. Some can't get past the frustration of losing Joel. I did and what I got was the most satisfying and complete story I ever been a part of. This video shows it beautifully

The second game just made me laugh in disbelief and honestly I don't care about these characters. In my canon, the story ended with TLoU1. They should get someone competent to write a concise story that is loyal and realistic to the characters.

Ok, I've watched this so many times, it's unreal. Everything is amazing. Joel and Ellie's relationship is probably my favorite thing from any game, and you capture it so perfectly with this. And I'm so happy that you used Fink for the music, it fits so well! Also, 0:40 - 1:12 was probably my favorite part of the whole thing. The machine beeps matching with the beat was so good haha. And quotes like "You can still do the right thing here" with "maybe I just wanted to do right by her" was such a clever matching. 2:10 - 2:17 killed me. Making edits for video games is no easy task, but this really shares the same quality as your other videos. Beautiful work!!

I always say "Oh shit!" when I see a notification that you've uploaded lol. I have mixed feelings about TLOU 2, I feel they should've changed certain things, but overall I really liked what they were going for. I hope we get a Tommy DLC so we can see his point of view from days 1-3 (with Joel flashbacks!!). Btw that parallel 3:21 to 3:25 was genius. Great vid as always :)

I finished playing Part 1 a few days ago and am now absolutely obsessed with TLOU. I haven’t played Part 2 yet but I’ve been pretty aware of the plot points in the game over the years regardless. So I just couldn’t wait to watch this edit any longer. Fantastic work as always Heather! Love this edit.

This is absolutely stunning!! These two games are everything to me, they absolutely changed my way of seeing a video game story and the way it can be told through gameplay. You did an amazing job paying homage to this unforgettable franchise, great work!!

May I argue? I'm deeply sure that the ending is hopeful. And it's never too late. Never too late to stop spreading hatred, violence and pain. In the end Ellie found her peace not only with Abby, not just with Joel, but with herself. Now she accepted Joel's action. She doesn't need to fight her survivor's guilt anymore. I think Ellie is now walking into the world as a new person ready to live and bring happiness and joy to the lifes of others because she found her own peace

I've been watching this again and again and again for more than 3 months in a row now. I've been following you since your first edits on The Walking Dead during season 3. Many years after, I still love to watch your past edits and this one is haunting me every damn day. Never stop doing that because you're a really, really talented person. Thank you for all that, really.

Just finished the games again and instantly came back to watch this. Beautiful. So well timed, so well put together, explores everyone’s characters wonderfully despite the short runtime… and it’s so damn sad! But of course you already knew how much I love this edit!

Had to add this to my playlist as soon as I watched it for the first time. Regularly come back here. One of the best videos I have ever seen of TLOU

I loved these games so much, and felt, pretty much the way you did. I've played them twice and I loved these characters, including Abby and Owen. The ending of Part 2 is just so devastating and really broke me, but I am sure I'll play the game again, someday. You really do a beautiful job with your editing. I love how you basically tell a story with the clips that you choose and the voice overs. They are well thought out and seamless. Thanks for sharing this.

Oh my god. First, I need to say, I am going to be watching this for YEARS. It's absolutely beautiful. Okay, when Joel is saying he saved her and you can hear the hospital in the background? I got chills. The parallels between Ellie and Joel at 1:30??? Amazing. And then the way it switches to Abby, and don't even get me STARTED on 2:10 okay- WHO GAVE YOU THE RIGHT and that whole ending??? I'm not okay.

Honestly I love this, it makes it one story as it should be. I understand the hate and betrayal fans feel for the sequel although I don't agree with all of it. It's imperfect, and that first music note that hits with Abby's intro in this...I welcome her, all of her huge armed, hypocritical, yes ma'am self... it makes the second last of us less like the first and more organic and real. And yet Sarah giving her watch to Joel on his birthday, she taught Joel about unconditional real love, and how he passes that to Ellie on her's... the shit show that some people see is understandable... but the message of real imperfect love and connection with those that mean the most to you is right there. And this song, proving it was Too Late to save Ely from the truth, then Too Late to say goodbye... amazing video.

Holy fuck Heather. You have no idea what your classic twd and br ba tributes did for me back then. I haven’t seen many other shows so I haven’t seen any other videos. Saw this out of no where as I’m coming off of a last of us obsession again. This is perfect. No joke this is perfect. You style is so simple yet elegant in terms of editing and shot choice. You somehow wrap the entire story of The Last of us and tell it with a song I wouldn’t even think of to fit. This means a lot.

i've never played the game, but i love good stories. This video told me a tragic story about two people fighting their way through a zombie apocalypse. Joel saved the girl, but the girl couldn't save Joel. So tragic. There is a lot of beauty in a story so sad.

God, as much as I hated what they did with TLoU2, it's gorgeous videos like this that make me want to give it a chance. My heart breaks all over again.

Yes! I was always hoping that one day you'll make a videogame edit and your first one happens to be about my favorite one ever. I'm obsessed with TLoU ever since the first one came out and I'm insanely attached to both Joel and Ellie (and now Abby too). It might just be my dearest story. I absolutely loved Part II, I've beaten it three times already. I just can't get enough of this world, HBO series better get here ASAP as possible! I watched this whole edit with a massive grin on my face (which may sound disturbing considering all the murder in it but let's just assume it's normal). I don't think any upload EVER made me this happy as this. I couldn't even believe when I saw you upload this and I literally had to read the titles like three times to make sure that I'm not seeing things. And it's absolutely a thing of beauty. I've seen some great TLoU edits but this is the first one that tells the whole story, shows the entire picture of both games so coherently and passionately. It's also so well organized and thought out that even if I didn't know what TLoU is I would still understand everything about it just from watching this. This goes to my "Daaamn, Heather!" playlist. PS: Ok, so technically speaking that playlist doesn't exist yet but after this it's about to.

(I just now noticed after typing that, you also made that same reference... I’m a little slow sometimes, I’m sorry!) Thank you so very much though, for saying all of that. That really means a lot! I always feared I’d not be able to pull a game edit off. But TLOU being as good as it is, I just had to. Coincidentally, I just finished my third playthrough of the game as well, haha. It’s amazing how much replay value these games have. It never gets tiring. I can’t wait either, for the series! I’m so anxious to see who they’ll cast as Joel and Ellie. I haven’t been excited for a show to come out like that in a long time.

@MatiZ815 I really love RDR2, Detroit: Become Human, the Uncharted series, TWD Telltale Series, and GTA V. I’m playing a ton of games right now so I’m sure this list will expand soon once I finish them. But RDR2 is definitely one of my all time favorites right with TLOU. I cant even begin to express how beautiful and amazing that game is. The characters, writing, gameplay, scenery... I’ve know I’ve invested an insane amount of hours in that game from just exploring and hunting alone, haha. Arthur Morgan is one of my favorite characters right after Joel. What are some of your favorite games? :)

@@xHeather360x Looks like we have pretty much the same taste. Both TLoU games are my all time favorites and I can't decide which one I prefer. It's difficult for me to get the right perspective on them because I was spoiled the entire story of Part II (I'm still shaking with anger when I think of that!). RDR2 is my close second best for all the reasons you mentioned. Rockstar always had great writing but their stories were more focused on social commentary so I was so surprised with what they did in RDR2. Such a beautiful story, filled with heart and memorable characters (and ofc a fair share of social commentary). It plays like a great novel. It's a shame that the writer, Dan Houser left the studio. Hopefully they'll be able to keep that quality but I'm worried that they might get commercialized. I love Uncharted too, the 4th one is a masterpiece of action/adventure games. The Witcher is also great and I really enjoyed the new God of War. I'm also a die hard fan of Assassin's Creed: I played all the games for better or worse. I really can't wait to hear what Naughty Dog is doing next (Part III, they better!).

@MatiZ815 Oh man, that is the worst. It’s still great that you were able to enjoy the game still. I do hope they make a Part III as well. If anything ever eventually happens to Ellie though... That’s going to be insanely heartbreaking. It’s great to hear we’ve got the same taste in games too as well from shows/movies, haha. I actually got that whole Assassins Creed collection a few months back, but haven’t gotten around to playing any of them yet. I’ll have to check those out soon. God of War has also been a game I’ve been interested in playing, so that’ll move up on my list too!

Honestly Heather .. how can you. I was slowly beginning to heal, and then you upload this without any warning? Rude. This must be the most emotional tlou tribute i've seen so far since part 2. You perfectly brought both games together and created this bittersweet atmosphere that left me wrecked, once again. You can take this as a compliment haha, thanks for the pain. I'm, as uaual, amazed with your editing and parallel work, but i've expected nothing less from you. I also love how you used underused clips, especially the ones with Abby, makes it feel more fresh and exciting to watch. So glad to see you back in my subbox btw, i absolutely missed your talent girl!

first words I have to get out is oh my god, Heather what an absolute surprise that you uploaded, and its last of us? oh hells to the yells this is awesome! the colouring for starters is wonderful. even the song you have chosen for this video, it just fits the video perfectly. the parallel with Abbys and Ellie fighting was just absolutely brilliant!!! So I just recently finished the first game and I'm waiting for the second one to go on sale. I really liked the first one and I hope I'll like the second one despite what I've heard and seen about it. But dang if this video doesn't make me want to check out the second game sooner. It sounds like you've already been spoiled, but I just want to say PLEASE play it all the way through before coming to any conclusions. There has been a lot of misinformation, and people who have no idea what the words 'in character' mean. For me, the Last of Us 2 is a phenomenal game with some minor pacing issues. (I think a few sections should have been shortened but people could argue that instead of being an obsessive completionist I could just rush through those areas and I guess that is fair).
