I've played through the game at least 5 or 6 times and watching this is the 2nd time I've seen that scene. I saw it once when I played it through the first time and now. He clearly wasn't expecting this. After all she is an important character and the actress came to join them. It probably solidified in his mind that she would be there all along. He was half in disbelief half horrified about it all. You don't need to be hypervocal or agitated to have a great reaction. It's all in his eyes, it was emotional and as a dad he probably thought about how it would feel. He looked lowkey traumatized poor dude. But it's great to see him care throughout even the intro, he was even feeling guilty about jostling sarah carrying her while running around because she was injured.

I hated the way the game started by breaking my heart and then there was Tess and those two kids, you know what I mean. So much heartbreak in this game. Just brilliant brilliant game. I never got to play factions. You needed a decent link and it cost money. You're the first person in all these years I have seen even comment on it, let alone say something positive. They also turned off the PS3 servers for it. I don't know about PS4/5. The general theme of the game was moral dilemmas and this game just smacked you in the face with them one after another. A lot of people say (and I am one): "Nobody wins TLOU. You just find a way to survive it." Neil Druckmann said the theme of part 1 was love and part 2 was revenge. I'd put it that part 1 was finding a way to love in a world stripped of it and part 2 was about consequences as in dealing with the consequences of our actions. What do you think?

@@tonywilson4713 What do you mean by needing a link, and it costing money? Back then I borrowed my friend's copy of TLOU and was playing quite a bit of its multiplayer, on PSN which was of course free to play online. And anytime I'd hear Factions brought up, it was of found memories. While at the time it was rather underrated compared to all the other multiplayer games being played (including Naughty Dog's own Uncharted 3 multiplayer) it still stood out as something rather unique and polished for those who did actually play it. I myself remember feeling super immersed, something uncommon in many lobby based multiplayer games at the time.

People they could have picked up. People they could have saved. Sarah had that entire backseat for herself and they did nothing to help them. It made me feel cold inside. Lenemus so you were mad at Joel, a single father for wanting to protect his daughter from anyone or anything (nobody knew what was happening early on) and you think that was cold? Because he didn’t help some random assholes when all hell broke loose? Usually when it’s pure chaos people aren’t thinking clearly to begin with. All I’m saying is that you should probably worry about family first and if you can later try to help others atleast that’s what I’d do. If you wanna go help people before you’ve even helped yourself you’ll be the first to go. It’s like being on a plane: you put the mask on yourself first then you help other people. You don’t put it on someone else because you’ll pass out and then you can’t help anyone.

Troy discussing how he wanted to impress everyone as he shot THAT scene, and the director Neil telling him to do it again as he's running on fumes of emotional exhaustion is a wonderful recollection of the actor's ego getting in the way of the work and the stripping away of all of that to reveal the truth of the scene. Masterful stuff. Can't wait to see the rest of this from y'all!

I think on the making of video you can see that outtake, Troy was really putting too much, was overacting that scene, it was as he said it - showing off and yes, he was genuine and honest, but it was taking away from the scene as well. I think it was a very smart - even if it was hard for him and probably other people - to reshoot that scene again. Troy learned a lot as well.
