THE LAST OF US - Behind the scenes "Joel and Ellie reunite"

Ойындар

The Last of Us. One of the video games that, with its linear storyline and well-emphasised moments, continues to move gamers, and we also owe this to the entire cast of actors that Naughty Dog has so carefully chosen. From this recording, made during the filming of one of the video game's most tear-jerking scenes, you can witness the splendid performance of Ashley Johnson (Ellie) and Troy Baker (Joel). If, nine years after the release of this title, we are still talking about it, there is no longer any doubt that we are talking about a masterpiece, and I am proud to have played it... and cursed to finish the run on the 'realism' difficulty level to platinum it. 😅❤️💯🏆

    - One theory of mine about the show of The Last of Us HBO and some Recommended links for you ⬇ - One theory of mine about a possible reason why Neil Druckmann chose Bella Ramsey for the role of little Ellie in the show of The Last of Us HBO 🍄, besides the fact that she is a good actress, could be her resemblance to Ashley Johnson. As you know, the actress who won the audition for Ellie Williams in TLOU Part 1 and Part 2, in the TV series acts as the mother of the 14-year-old not only to pay homage to the character she created and evolved, but also because of their resemblance. Pay attention to the oval shape of their faces, noses, in short, physiognomy. Then again, for the video game they took the motion capture and some details of Ashley's face, but you have to consider that in the original and remastered Ellie looks almost like a "doll" (shiny eyes, shiny face), while in the remake, but also in TLOU Part 2, she is a 14-year-old girl. Other than that, my guess is that in addition to the acting, they took the resemblance between Bella Ramsey and Ashley Johnson very much to heart, and if so I would say that I am even more proud of Naughty Dog than I was before. 🐶❤️ Craig Mazin, show creator, was keen to point out that "this is an adaptation, and as such we should not get hung up on the source material, we should just love it and understand it, and then add new elements". He adds 'Obviously, for those who haven't played the video game it will all be new, but even for those who know the game the new elements will be perceived as coherent and sensible'; Niko Parker herself, in the role of Sarah, states that 'in the TV series Sarah is black to be more inclusive and to connect with actors Pedro Pascal and Gabriel Luna, who are of foreign origin'. In any case, if an actress does not convince or satisfy you for various reasons, it does not give you an excuse to offend or even threaten a person who does her best to make her performance perfect. So, stop belittling Bella's acting just because you disagree with the casting choice. For heaven's sake, I really like Ashley's performance and it's right to say one's opinion or judgment on something, but making a negative comparison is not fair to those who put passion and love into the work she does. By now, the real problem is that everyone thinks they are professional critics, or as in this case, professional actors, but if you had an ounce of dignity you would understand how much effort and dedication Bella Ramsey dedicated to such a delicate role, because she was the first to worry about the judgment of not just passionate fans of the video game, but anyone. For this reason, especially young actors, experience their work with constant anxiety, due to the viewers who do not respect everything behind the figure of the actor who, if you didn't know it, has feelings. Unfortunately, in the history of cinema these influences have been inculcated in the viewer for years and years. Hollywood was one of the first to dictate beauty standards, especially for actresses: sexualizing a female character is one of the (mis)marketing strategies they employ to attract people and make money. This makes the experience even more difficult for young actresses, who, if they already have to give their best to make a name for themselves in a world of sharks (cinema), also have to fight against selfish people with absolute lack of empathy, in order not to get depressed and jeopardize their careers, and thus what they love to do so passionately. Therefore, do not be influenced by negative habits, but be selfless and empathize with others, also because beauty is not important, the important thing is mutual respect. And in the case of an actor or actress, acting is the other important aspect, since it is what makes his or her performance credible.❤️ ⚠️ Warning to the community ⚠️ If you agree with what I said I have if you do not you can have your say by responding to my comment, but there is no need to add insults just because you disagree with what another user wrote. She acts like a block of wood compared to the original actress. I dont even care about her looks homie I want somebody who can act out these scenes and do them justice and she aint it imo. She has no solid acting chops and if she was really cast simply on her "resemblance" then she was miscast imo and they should of went with a better actor. Just more reason for me to stick with the game besides the already annoyingly pointless changes. Like bills story being gutted to fit in some new narrative instead of telling the story we all know and love. I wouldnt mind some backstory even if they changed things but the way he went out, did my boy dirty. Overall hard pass Ill stick with the game especially with that new PC release even less reason to go back.

@@demi8890 Perhaps I have not been clear enough: I do not take issue if a person disagrees with a thought I have expressed, because everyone is free to say what they think; but I do take issue with certain attitudes that users use towards the other person, perhaps expressing their own thoughts, but adding insults (e.g. the comment I replied to earlier 'Have you been smoking?') to belittle or demoralise the other person. In this way, a normal discourse, made by two users discussing a topic, turns into a discourse where one person becomes the aggressor who sends insults to the other person, and consequently the other person becomes the victim who receives those insults: well, this is incorrect. I just wrote a thought of mine and a user who disagreed offended me by telling me if 'I had smoked something', and I answered him by saying that he can expose what he thinks without the need to offend. So now I ask you, am I the one who does not respect others, the opinions of others and their point of view? I know very well how the Internet works. I know that any opinion can receive an opposing one, but this is not good. On the Internet, as in real life, there are norms (rules) that help the community to live in harmony, it is a pity that people believe they can do and say anything, just because they communicate in front of a screen instead of with the person in the flesh, without considering the fact that this is cyberbullying, and that every action entails a reaction (every action has a consequence). To conclude, I am not afraid of confrontation or opposing opinions, but of the consequences that the actions of certain people can cause to the physical and psychological state of another person, and after all I have been through in my life I can tell you that I am capable of fighting such things and maintaining my KZread channel, thanks also to the help of its community and the tools that this platform provides. I love his voice, and with his incredible acting he was able to play his role exceptionally well. You know, this consideration of yours would be evaluated very positively by an actor-doubler/actress-doubler, because that is exactly what these people intend to do: to excite the spectator by making him or her part of everything that happens on stage. By doing so, the audience does not care about the person who played the character, but only about the character. This is what makes dubbing and acting such wonderful jobs. ❤🎤🎧🎬

But Joel lost everything; his world, his daughter, his past and the world in which he lived a normal life. Joel is not a strong character, but a man who has been broken by tragedy and time. I have never felt more from a video game performance than TLoU, and this scene is easily top 5. Much respect to the graphics team for working so hard to bring these performances to life in a way that touched so many hearts.

I always love just how natural it feels. Yeah, it's scripted like a movie, but it's one of those movies where I can get into it and believe everything is happening, like the characters are just real people dealing with some shit, but I feel like playing this game has ruined me from most single player games sadly.... I notice a lot more janky/unnatural feeling dialog and stories where they either went with something cool over something that makes sense to the story (typically Japanese story telling that I used to like, where now I can see how bad it gets with "Main character down and defeated, but comes back with the power of love and friendship!" or in the case of Metal Gear Solid, "We have an enemy on fire that has fire powers...because it's just very cool") or where it feels like people reading a script like a robot (A Plague Tale, both games, feel this unnatural, where they mention and use exposition in dialog to explain everything that's going on which feels god awful to listen to...like I'm watching Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh again and having them explain for the 8th time what Charmander/Pot of Greed does). It really sucks once you get that high quality of story telling and acting because anything less will feel like an embarrassment to witness.

I fully agree with you, because the same thing happened to me too, as in the case of anime: after spending years worshipping anime, now some things seem weird or nonsensical to me, and some of them are purposely made and continue to be that way. Why is that? Just to attract people or even to please the fans. But that doesn't make sense, because then the whole product loses sense, I mean... things aren't done just to make money, but also to tell a story that makes the viewer feel emotions, that's what makes a work unforgettable, and The Last of Us video game is one of the best examples of that. PS. I still like Anime, but I hate some cringeworthy elements that have almost become standard, and it has become predictable and boring to find them in every single work: for example, the usual new boy in school who is ogled and loved by all the girls since the first day of school, or the horrible s3xualisation of the female characters who fall for no reason on the male character and with definitely stupid positions, or the use of lesbian couples and never of gay male couples 🏳‍🌈. All this for the sole purpose of turning on the male audience. I understand that the Japanese population has a different life from that of the West, but sometimes it goes too far.

@@vins3_shouri Yeah same here, I still love shows like Attack on Titan or OPM or Mob Psycho since they're slightly different in how they tell their stories, but man some of them shows just want to push a "cool" factor or a "lets get horny!" scene lol and it becomes way too much. I like it when a story has somewhat natural characters and personalities that can guide you through even the most unbelievable story (even though AoT is FAR from believable with giant flesh mechs, the characters and the fact that you learn info that's been subtley in your face by the end at the same time the characters learn that same info, it just feels really good to watch, or really emotional when something sad happens)...meanwhile games like Final Fantasy 7 (and although I understand completely why people like it, it's just not for me) have these moments that are made for laughs or to be cool, or to fake some kind of emotional moment (*cough* infamous pizza scene) where by the end of it, I'm skipping it because I just don't care....the Sephiroth fight, although really visually pleasing and cool, I had no understanding who they were, why they could do it, I just wanted to beat the game so I could uninstall it.

I agree with the fact that since it was Ashley who created the character, even according to the director's and scriptwriters' instructions, it might be difficult to find her vibes in another actress, but we cannot deny the fact that Bella still put a lot of effort into her role, and this without even playing the video game product. The same thing happened with Wednesday, where lead actress Jenna Ortega didn't want to ask Christina Ricci, who had played the role of the young Addams in the 90s films, and yet her performance was incredible. Honestly, after playing, watching and listening to The Last of Us over and over again, and the same goes for the TV series, I admit that I was very pleased with the great job Bella Ramsey did on the series. However, everyone has their own opinion on things, and it is legitimate to express what one thinks. After all, that's what we all do in the comments section: we discuss and confront each other. 👍

Acting is the basis of everything, then there are his specialisations, such as dubbing. In fact, to be a TV presenter one has to study acting, something that nowadays, in Italy, seems not to be considered as much as it used to be, since film production companies, the client commissioning a product or the director give the role of the secondary or main character to guest stars. Needless to say, this is wrong, because a singer who has not studied acting will never be able to give the same intention or emotion that a professional actor or voice actor would. Unfortunately, this is the usual marketing strategy that is adopted to make money by attracting an audience, but not giving much importance to the quality of the work and the end result.
