The treasures and objects of art displayed in the Medici Pitti Palace are breathtaking. I said a silent "thank you" to Anna Maria Luisa de’ Medici as I walked through the many galleries....the collection of nautilus cups is fabulous.

On , wow! That was amazing, thank you. What a far thinking woman she was. It’s her that both Florence and the world can see these amazing works of art. My husband and I visited Florence is 2003 - wonderful place. I’m sure our tour guide did not mention her name. I wonder would it be possible to put forward that all tour guides in future mention this wonderful woman’s name with pride. It was a long time ago , maybe they do it now out of respect. I bought a magazine holder from a leather shop which I use to this day ( even though the cat jumped on it and bent it a tad. I fixed it up 🤣🤣) and a CD from a stand . Beautiful. A few other memories for family. Thank you so much . Loved this. And loved Florence . 👏👏👏👏👵👵👵👵👵🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

Indeed, a priceless gift. And a very splendid and marvelous one aswell. She made sure that all the art and via the books also all the knowledge that the Medici dynasty had gathered over centuries was made available and would stay available to the public as a whole, for the benefit of a city she obviously must have deeply loved. I think that thas was perhaps the most wonderful way the (material) legacy of the Medicis could have been handled. Instead of "rotting away" in some treasury of a person or entity who may only see all the art and books and so on as "assets", as pure wealth and nothing more, all those wonders have been given the chance to be admired, as they probably should be. I love it :) Though I must say it pains me that Anna Maria has not been given the chance the rule over Tuscany as her father and as she herself had wanted. You would think that she would have been the best choice in many ways, as she had received probably the best education you could get in her age and she was probably more familiar with the place and situation than anyone else. But alas, hunger for power and the terrible stereotypes/oppression against women seem to have won, once again. As was so often the case, unfortunately. Where would this world be today if women (and everyone else, for that matter) had been given equal rights and equal status right from "the beginning"? I wish 'twere so. This is one of the aspects of history (and still ongoing today, sadly...) that I will never understand. How can you think that someone is "lesser" than anyone else just based on gender or skin color or religious beliefs or whatever? That sort of thought just does not make sense to me at all. But anyways, on a much more positive note: I have recently noticed on your About page that this channel has been created almost exactly a year ago (I am a couple days early as it seems, forgive me). Since then your fantastic videos have been viewed well over a million times, also according to the About page. Which means that you have given the beautiful gift of excellent education and entertainment to thousands and thousands of viewers time and time again over the last year. I think that deserves to be celebrated :) Thank you! Thank you for all the work, love, time and passion you put into this. Thank you for all the videos and all the comments. Thank you for all the things I and we, all your viewers, can learn from you and your wonderful videos. Thank you for all the smiles and all the "Ohh, that is amazing!" moments you bring to us. You know me a little bit at this point, you know that I like to try and use many words and commas for expressing my overflowing enthusiasm and gratefulness. Sometimes these are not enough, I feel. Thank you :) And thank you for this video! Anna Maria might not be as well known as other members of the Medici dynasty, but she is just as important and interesting as all the others. Some would even argue that she might be the most important Medici of them all. However, it seems unnecessarily coy to omit the (well-attested) fact that Gian Gastone was homosexual, which undoubtedly contributed to his dissatisfaction with married life. Perhaps you could consider producing a video on Gian Gastone, who went from being a promising scholar in his youth to a dissipated drunkard in later life.
