Brida is a character that you love and hate at the same time. Finding out she was cursed all those years ago by Storri was heartbreaking. How different would things be if she could have produced sons or daughters for Ragnar?

I really really started to dislike Brida right around this part of the story. I never came back around to liking her again like I'd done in the past. That said she is a really good character and actress

@@tidepride86 I completely understand. I have to say I agree with you 100%. I didn’t spend much time in the last two seasons loving or liking her for that matter. It’s funny because one character I couldn’t stand for the majority of the show ends up becoming one I loved in later seasons.

Soooo waiting for you to post this reaction after last weeks cliffhanger. This is one of my favorite episodes of this season. Alfred and Edward, Brida and Uhtred have some amazing scenes. The chemistry between Alexandre Draymon and Emily Cox is palpable. Love that you are really digging this show. It is criminally underrated. Keep enjoying. It gets better every single week!

Your right about it getting better. This show was was absolutely amazing from the first episode all the way to the last episode in season 5. I am really looking forward to the movie.

This was such a relieving episode. To see a little acceptance from Brida, or understanding. I've always had a love/hate for Brida. (Never full hate, not like other characters who I absolutely hate lol) And it's always nice to see her show a little less severity and humanity. She can be too unforgiving and judgemental most of the time, very my way or no way mentality. No leeway or trying to understand things from other sides or points of view. One of the things I like about Uhtred. So episodes like this are nice to see.

This is a top tier episode for me. Season 3 episode 6 is in my top 5 TLK episodes and is a top ten episode of any television series I’ve watched. I loved Brida and Uhtred’s journey together. They have a lifetime of history together. Edward making the decision to enter the battle was so damn great. The scene on the ramparts between Alfred and Uhtred was exquisitely done. I am really enjoying a rewatch to follow along with your reactions. Much fun!

Remember Brida lost Utread baby after the curse. She is a complex character but I love her . And I've seen the whole series. And yeah I love her.

That's just how they wrote the show to look like Brida lost the baby to a curse, but it was the mushroom ale that caused the miscarriage.

That show was so bad. I only watched the first one because I thought I saw him in a preview; and I did, but I could not watch the entire episode to even find out what happened to him. He did not even mention it on his instagram.

@@sarawhite302 Yes, Bernard Cornwell the author of the books this show is based upon wrote two more books to wrap up this series. The movie is called 7 Kings must Die and is loosely based upon the final two books. It’s almost like an extra long epilogue. I’m guessing it will probably be out late 2023 or early 2024.

the uhtred & brida scenes are my absolute favorite

I feel like this is important to point out, this show is historical fiction, but it's not like, augmented reality historical fiction. There is no magic, there are no curses, there are beliefs that serve as another layer of control over the characters in the story, and they react to these things as if they're true because of these beliefs, but the only power they actually hold are those beliefs they instill in their adherents and the behavior they elicit from them, whether it be Celtic belief, Norse, or Christian. That's not really a spoiler, IIRC one of the central themes of the novel was a criticism of belief structures along with other power structures.

From historical perspective it must be Edward to lead the battle as well. There’s no record of Alfred himself marching during battle of Beamfleot, according to Anglo-Saxon chronicles, it was Edward the Elder and Æthelred of Mercia who were the commanders of this battle. (but Æthelred is gone here since the show made him a bad dude) It was time to show that Edward was capable to lead by himself, like Alfred being one of the leaders (alongside Æthelred of Wessex) of battle of Ashdown at the start of season 1.

They need to make season 7 of this movie

Uthred deserves so much, he everything gets taken from him and he's so strong mentally and physically. yeah brida pissed me off after a while. yeah i fucking cried when they killed ragnar which is fucked up and a bad idea on the shows part. i wish they made more seasons, and i wish i rewatch the show for the first time again, but this will do.

I gave up on the books then the show. The actor that plays Frank was good.

After you finish the series you should go to the books and compare them and do a review on it. (There is a free audio book on KZread of most of the books)

Uhtred and Brida's Relationship is beyond Complex to such degrees you can't really describe it. How their story ends in Season 5 fully encapsulates that. Brida is very much a Mirror of Uhtred and represents what Uhtred would be had he been full on Dane.
