THE LAST CHRISTMAS GIFTS!!!

In this video we open the last of the incredibly generous Christmas gifts that were sent!
In 'Cadeaux at the Chateau', all of the inhabitants of the Chateau de Lalande gather together to open beautiful gifts that people have sent from all over the world. All of the monetisation from these videos will be donated to a different charity each month. KZread earnings fluctuate wildly each month, as ad revenue changes throughout the year. August 2020:
Alzheimer's Research UK (in memory of all of the residents of my parents' nursing homes) €350
September 2020:

October 2020:
Medecins sans Frontieres (chosen by my mother to support vaccinations in Africa) €942 (equivalent to 426 cholera vaccinations)

A Lalande Fashion Scholarship for a student at the Villioti Fashion Institute in South Africa R100,000 (approx €5,800)

We Are Here Venice €2,000
February 2022:
Red Cross for Ukraine €2019
I used to show the gifts as part of ' @The Chateau Diaries ' episodes, but you're all so very generous that we have many gifts, and if we spent the episodes opening them, we wouldn't be able to show you other aspects of chateau life! So, for those of you who enjoy watching presents being opened, and as a way to thank those of you who were kind enough to send them, I've made this new channel. Every week we will film your beautiful gifts whilst enjoying afternoon tea or aperitif together.
It is very important to me that you know that we in no way expect anyone to send us gifts. I would like to go further than that and add that, if doing so will put you in any financial difficulty whatsoever, please, please do not send us anything. Knowing that you join us by watching 'The Chateau Diaries' gives us all an enormous boost. But for those of you who have sent these incredibly thoughtful gifts, I hope that seeing us open them gives you a fraction of the joy that you've given us 💖💖💖
If you would like to see more of our life at the chateau, please go to our main 'Chateau Diaries' channel:

Glad to hear that you liked the pins. I had made sure to include red to remind you of your dining room and yellow since its Stephanie's favorite color. I tried to find blue for Spode-inspired ones but couldn't find the right shade of blue. Either way, I am glad to hear your excitement over them. I have thought about opening an Etsy shop with the pins and a few other things but I'm not sure yet. Still, its nice to know that they are appreciated. Definitely agree that the toile ornaments are works of art. Can't imagine how much better they wanted them to be but we are often our own worst critics. Hope you enjoy your trip.

*****I admire how all of you show your appreciation and gratitude, never sounding fake, and at so many wonderous gifts! There's a lesson in that for all others, it would increase their blessings..AND I have left my tree (artifical) up since 2019! I always left mine up late so I could enjoy the many ornaments I've collected but when the pandemic & quarantine came it was so nice to be able to turn on the twinkling lights and watch my collection revolving as my tree turns (and my 2 cats love it too) SO we decided to leave it up all the time! It has become a symbol of hope & happiness in this time of uncertainty and gloom.

My storage room had 15 plastic bins of Christmas and Easter decorations. My best friend and I sat in the living room and divided them up among my son, daughter, and myself. When I came across something Stephanie would like, I put them aside. A dear friend got most of my decorations. The toile de jouy came from Facebook Marketplace at a very reasonable price. Not everyone finds the material to their taste and young people don't sew. . . Barb

Another idea, a bookshelf in the kitchen for all the cookbooks so that they are right there and the preplanning and ordering the ingredients the weeks before is easier. I have always liked the look of a shelf just below the ceiling like Michael has in the cottage, I don't know what they are called but there you can have the cookbooks lining the kitchen like its own crown moulding.

The lapel flower holder is known as a "tussy-mussy" and likely the most famous one was worn by David Suchet in the Poirot series, with and without a perfect bud in it. They were often made of silver and were in the shapes of urns or vases, some of them quite intricate. Enjoy! It will be very useful, come Spring.

What you said about being soothed by being surrounded by beautiful things is basically what my channel is about. Finding beauty everywhere I go. I grew up in a large, very old, beautiful house filled with amazing antiques on 75 acres of land--compete with 12 peacocks, among other animals. So, I know what it's like to live somewhat like you do. However, that was in my youth. My current situation is the complete opposite, so I like to "escape" to paradise by watching your channel. Beauty is so soothing to my soul.

I'll use veggie chips, (more than likely zucchini chips, dehydrated or raw). When company comes we'll make or buy tortilla chips. I wish I could attach an image - Dole Whip is typically the most favorite treat at Disney with everyone I know! It is pineapple ice cream. They had to release the recipe during the pandemic - it is made of pineapple juice, frozen pineapple chunks, and vanilla ice cream. So refreshing on a hot day at the park.

Dole Whip (at least in Disneyland) is actually dairy-free! No ice cream involved. I would describe the texture as a dairy-free creamy soft serve.

That white fabric would make a great copy of Princess Diana off shoulder dress designed by Japanese designer Hatchi

How about two peacock trees...a small one with the individually wrapped boozie chocolates made into ornaments, and a bigger one with the ever growing collection of peacocks.

Dole whips (As in whipped up) are similar in feel to a soft-serve frozen dessert using fruit flavors Dole is famous for, pineapple is the most popular but I think they also have orange and other tropical flavors. I recently moved and now am only a few miles away from Disneyland.

At 41.46, the woman dressed as Madame Pompadour made that dress herself, as the pink spencer (from the musical Hamilton) and the green and the blue 18th garments in the other page. Her name is Christine and she has a youtube channel in which she shows how she made those wonderful dresses kzread.info

Fabulous, as always! The generosity, ingenuity, talent and love in these gifts are astounding! I have the Boulangerie/Patisserie book. It is wonderful, just reading about all the fantastic bakeries makes me feel that I am back in France. Poilane's "Pains de Meteil" is the basis for my go to home-made loaf. The combo of rye and whole wheat is amazing! You will have to read the story of its creation.
