That Black Mercury Marauder was the rare and hard to beat as far as cool factor! im a sucker for the Fairlanes also

Lots of fairlanes that day but I agree that marauder was definitely awesome. Don’t see much of those here

I'm a Ford fanatic and I thank you for taking us to a great Ford show ! My favorite cars were the 63-66 Galaxies and the 60s Mustangs. Really unbelievable that the California Special 68 Mustangs #1-#4 were in attendance !!!!

That was a 66 LTD, don't see them often. I had a 66XL for 18 years, Heritage burgundy with Cragars, warmed over 390, 4:11 gears ran a best 13.79 was a nice driver sold in 2014 due to financial issues miss that car

That Marauder is gorgeous! I have a 65 Park Lane convertible and also a 63 R code Galaxie in that same condition. Too bad you aren’t in Arizona or I’d hire you to work on them.

I think you also bleed Ford blue! Good to see a young person interested in these great Fords from the Total Performance era. I missed the Fab Ford show this year but have attended many before, this is the first time I have seen thorough coverage of the Galaxies. I have had my '64 XL for 25 years and a '66 7 Litre for 15 years. Good luck and have fun with your Galaxie, looks like a good car to build.

Welcome back folks, Now the Top 5 as by me. 5th. 62 Galaxie 406. 4th. 62 Galaxie 427. 3rd. 65 Falcon Tubbed. There is no 2nd place as we have a tie for 1st. They are, 64 Falcon white and 66 Fairlane white 427.

The 406/405 horse tri power was the top Ford engine in ‘62. Recall it had to compete with 409’s, 413 Mopars and 421 Ponchos! That 427 in the green ‘62 was a replacement engine.

That G code galaxie was definitely a contender. I believe it had the cast iron shorty headers. Those are just really cool. I’m hoping to come across the long ones some day

Looks like it was a nice show, thanks for taking us along. I really liked the Marauder, would have liked it more if the interior had been done closer to the original patterns on the seats and doors. Liked the 63 wagon also!

The fender scripts and flags you see on the 63 1/2 Marauder at 14:12 is what I’ve been looking for! They are very closely related to the Galaxies they have the same chassis, floor pans, all glass and doors and dash are the same. Except the smallest engine you can get in a full-size Mercury 1963 and newer is a Y code 250hp 2bbl carb 390FE. Or you could’ve ordered it with the 2x4 bbl R code 425hp 427FE. Either way that’s an awesome car! But seeing the way the interior is it’s probably a Y code car but it’s a small chance it could be a Z code 4bbl 300hp 390FE.

@@OmarRamirezGalaxie 410 cars are pretty rare The 410 engine was standard equipment for all 1966 and 1967 full-size Mercury Park Lanes although I’ve seen two Montclairs pop up with the 5th digit M code 410fe. kzread.info/dash/bejne/X2ylz82Df7zSdZs.html , this is a 66 Parklane we have in our stables one of a couple rare cars in the fleet! There is two 1966 Mercury S-55’s here too Q code 428 4 speed cars only 29 ever made! There was only 29 ever made because Ford officially stopped the production of manual transmission options for their full size in 1965 with the end of the Marauder nameplate but Some dealers either didn’t get the memo or it was upon special request either way those 29 cars left the factory line running and driving as automatic cars and the transmissions and everything included to make them a manual was put in the trunks for the dealership to install it. Ford was still building the Galaxie on the same factory assembly lines and was still offering a manual transmission so most of the parts was there. We just sold a clean running and driving 200 i6 ‘64 Comet 2 years ago I see them every once in a while what’s your price range and condition you are looking for?? I’ll keep an eye out!

I think that was a '67' (maybe a '66' but I believe the tail lights on that model were narrower.) not a '65' @ 11:24. I had a '65' and "66' back in the early 70's.

@@OmarRamirezGalaxie Yep, that is the same with me and the 66-67 Galaxie, it's all about the tail-lights on those models. The 65 had squared front fenders whereas the 66 and 67 went to a more rounded nose on their front fenders.

No way I could pick just one favorite. But all of those 60s fastback Galaxies are hard to beat in my book. Even the more squared 65 or 66 is still sharp looking to me. BTW, don't knock a pressurized 300 six! I used to think it was the best Ford truck engine until I saw what the Powernation duo did with a freakin' industrial engine and without going wild. kzread.info/dash/bejne/hY6juJh-ZaeqiKw.html

@@OmarRamirezGalaxie What surprised me is long before they got wild with the boost springs and settings they were still getting good hp but really good torque. Imagine a moderately boosted 300 with almost 500 ft-lbs, mostly flat torque curve, and a 5k redline. THAT would be a fun driving Comet!! Burn some tire in every gear.
