Great points. I think that this is a movie everyone who is interested in film should see. Unfortunately, I feel it's overlooked by modern audiences.

It is a great film, and up against Guiness, Sellers and Lom, Katie Johnson steals the show. It was her only big role in film, her others were all minor roles, rather like the other old ladies in this. In fact the studio didn't want to cast so old an actress, but when she offered to pay her own insurance, they relented, and didn't make her pay. I think she died a year or two later. I would mention to Cecil Parker's wonderful physical comedy, did anyone ever use a cane to indicate fear like that? Danny Green who played one round really was an ex boxer and Sellers did the parrot voices too. Kind Hearts is definately the other great Ealing Comedy, the word referenced is in the context of the original version of "Eeny Meany Miney Moe. Catch a ....... by the toe." I would mention The Man In The White Suit too.

Brilliant! But as mentioned, Kind Hearts and Coronets is matchless and The Man in the White Suit is much underrated!

    Us Brits do black comedy.

Very pedestrian analysis. Additionally, the truly idiotic statement of the dreaded word regarding the Negroid race not being used would have made Kind Hearts and Coronets a better film. That's childish/Yank wish fulfilmemt. Facile observations throughout.
