One of the greatest albums of ALL TIME!!! THis here changed the game when it released! It won the NOrwegian Grammys award as did their next album. One thing that rings true about this album though is it has to grow on you... at first it's hard to take in and enjoy.. its different... but once it grabs hold it will never let go! I used to listen to this for years straight! Love it!

Female vocals on this album were done by Sarah Jezebel Deva, who did the female vocals for Cradle of Filth from 1995-2008ish. Also many other great bands of that era such as Therion. She has her own solo material you should check out.

Nexus Polaris = Nostalgic album. Love Bizarre Cosmic Industries from it too! Agree, it has power metal resemblance to it, the epicness especially, but yeah, more melodic black metal, that too because of the high pitch vocals and the "anti" theme. Abigor is another Black Metal band, which is melodic, but you can easily hear the Black Metal in them, than Covenant Or Nokturnal Mortum, Celestia (Check their album Cave Full Of Bats) and yeah Arcturus (Wintrey Grey, Raudt og Svart), Borknagar (Dawn of the End), Limbonic Art (Solace of the Shadows), Adorned Brood (Pride was my Desire)

Wow!! This album is masterpiece!!. I haven't listened for so many years. By the way you are right, it is not black metal, the album doesn't have a specific genre, it has its own style an unique sound, a mixture of power, atmospheric, gothic, industrial and a black metal voice. For that reason it is so great.

You are correct, when this came out the traditional black metal fans did not accept it. It's not. It's symphonic metal, I guess. It got thrown into the black metal camp because of two reasons; the previous album was more traditional black metal, the members of the band are in black metal bands. The band went on to be industrial metal after this album.

The Kovenant has changed alot. They weren't a band who were afraid to change to say the least :p They were established in 1992, and started with fairly melodic black metal, but still black metal. Then they changed to this sound, which was more neoclassical and power metal-y, and they won the norwegian equivalent of an emmy for this record. Then they changed yet again to becoming an industrial metal/electronica band, and won another norwegian emmy!

Can you react to the song Death Pierce Me (demo version or studio) by Silencer. This is a relatively underground band within the Black Metal sub-genre known as DSBM Some side notes about the band: ●The bands genre is DSBM, which stands for Depressive Suicidal Black Metal. The genre itself can include elements of Black Metal, Doom Metal, and acoustic instruments, as well as high pitched screams/shrieks. The overall sound is meant to be depressive and sad. ●Many bands in this sub-genre have only one member, this band has two members. ●The singers name is Nattramn. Theres a lot of rumors about him; one involving him cutting his hands off and replacing them with pigs feet; the other is about him almost killing a 5 year old and being institutionalized in a psychiatric home. ●Nattramn did cut himself while recording his vocals, and was put into a psychiatric home where he recorded a dark synth album. ●The band only has a one track demo, one album, and has never played live.

Oh, I love The Kovenant! I never clicked so fast. Just for reference, the 5th sun is the last sun before the end of the world, according to Aztec mythology, and we live under the 5th sun now. Gives the song title more context. The Kovenant changed their name I believe for copyright reasons. If you listen to more of them ever, they become far less black and far more industrial as their career goes on.

Story time! Around 7 or 8 years ago when I was in high school we had an apprentice teacher in our natural sciences class. He was from Norway but had moved to Sweden and studied here. I was listening to some Dimmu Borgir on my school laptop in class when he was walking around the classroom and stopped when he was behind me. He commended me for my taste in music and then suggested I check out The Kovenant. Apparently he had at one time played bass guitar for them during the 90's, but it was only temporary and I think he was only part of one EP or something. Thought it was pretty cool nonetheless!

*This* is such a superb example of how stubborn people can be in these situations. I hope you apologised to Vin profusely after you started editing this Sori. Why is it *so* important for you to be correct in this type of situation? I’m intrigued, because I’ve experienced it myself and all it serves to do is create division and generate drama. Does it come from a lack of self confidence?

The Eleven Rules of Satanism Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked. Do not tell your troubles to others unless you are sure they want to hear them. When in another’s lair, show him respect or else do not go there. If a guest in your lair annoys you, treat him cruelly and without mercy. Do not make sexual advances unless you are given the mating signal. Do not take that which does not belong to you unless it is a burden to the other person and he cries out to be relieved. Acknowledge the power of magic if you have employed it successfully to obtain your desires. If you deny the power of magic after having called upon it with success, you will lose all you have obtained. Do not complain about anything to which you need not subject yourself. Do not harm little children. Do not kill non-human animals unless you are attacked or for your food. When walking in open territory, bother no one. If someone bothers you, ask him to stop. If he does not stop, destroy him. ...I wonder when the part comes, where satanists have to worship to satan, engage in animal mass slaughter or kill babies in rituals where they are all naked and covered in blood, in the middle of the woods. Never met any evil satanists that wanted to hurt someone other than maybe themselves as a result of psychological disorder, brought to them by their own stupid families and their stupid religious bullshit.
