I usually glue my pieces together. It gives another level of adhesion and also holds pieces in place while I’m stitching. I do not have the manual dexterity to do it the way Tony does it. I think I’ll use a little lighter weight leather for the main body because this bag will be for my daughter in law, and she is rather diminutive. I don’t want it to be too heavy.

Finally finished mine, I used a little heavier leather for the main body of the backpack, Tony was absolutely right on his recommendation. The leather I used was too heavy, should have gone with his suggestion!!!! Thank you Tony…

A favorite author of mine, Robert Heinlein, described the dilemma I'm having as a donkey starving between two piles of hay. I love the handle, don't mind the zipper, hate the drawstring but might hate the pleats more. Don't even suggest a roll top. I want another front pocket...seriously Tony, I could be a gray old man before I decide. Or do I do the explorer backpack instead? Maybe I'll add the handle to it...

@@DieselpunkRo that's my dilemma, I'm overthinking this. I'll probably make the Komut and the Explorer eventually. I have those damn penguins to finish before I can move on...did you ever accept a commission you regretted after you made 9 of 12?

I am looking at this bag and thinking it would turn out great with the body as a brown oil tan and the natural veg tan replaced by a brown American Bison that was at my local leather wholesaler. The bison has a pebbled surface.

Beautiful bags Tony, thanks! 2 questions, I need a stitching pony and I never see one in your list nor any links, can you add one? Also, the handle is attractive but I am concerned with travel and airlines fitting in overheads or under seats and just basically the handle extending too far beyond bag length to be practical in this situation. Is it possible to to have the handle not extend beyond the top of the bag and what impact on this bag would that create- any pros and cons appreciated. Thanks Tony!

I’ve been trying to find that video cause I want to look into possibly buying that chair for my workbench.....I’m in desperate need for a new one. But I’m having no luck finding it now. Would you be so kind to send me the info on that chair please? Thanks in advance. Love your content and work!!
