having grown up in the 60s, this was the first guitar song I heard and learned, I am OK with this. A little more outward energy than the original version, which had quiet power in its own way

Great job, adding some power to the song. I might've had the lead vocals mixed higher though. And although The Grass Roots had the big hit, theirs was not the original. That was by The Rokes, a UK band that had become popular in Italy with their own Italian language covers of US and UK hits. They had a hit there with their original "Piangi Con Me" ("Cry With Me"), then had new English lyrics written for the tune and re-released it in the UK as "Let's Live For Today" in late '66. Another obscure group, The Living Daylights, actually scooped The Rokes and released it first. Neither version was a hit. Dunhill Records in the US heard the song and gave it to The Grass Roots to record; it became a smash in early '67. And now, The Knockaffs update it! kzread.info/dash/bejne/fa6iy6eIZM_QmdI.html

I've been involved in a number of cults- both as a leader and a follower. You have more fun as a follower but make more money as a leader.
