I did the same thing with my cat. I kept moving the babies back to the bed trying to protect them ( as I thought) and she will go right behind me and move them back to different spots. She was doing this after they were a couple weeks old so I decided to step back and just observe to see what she was doing. Come to find out, she was strengthening them and teaching them to crawl and walk around. I eventually backed all the way off and only touched them to nurse their eyes and just let her be a mother which it wasn’t her first go round. I realized I was just coming against her natural instincts.

Good on you for realising momma cat knew actually what she was doing and letting her do it! A feral mom brought her four kittens into our office during a big snow several weeks ago. They were so young but she is an outstanding mom and now that they're old enough to be weaned, altered, and adopted, I'm going to wrangle the kittens and take them to a shelter and, hopefully, get the mom t~n~r (easier said than done). It really was pretty interesting to watch how the momma cat taught her babes. Cats are awesome!

@@elisabethrankin7702 😊 yes indeed I really have enjoyed watching her this is her third litter so far. She was a rescue cat I found dehydrated one summer already had babies with her. We took her in and gave the kittens up for adoption and has had two litters since she has been with me. She has truly been a blessing to us and it hurts to see her in any kind of distress so I have learned to just pay more attention to her and do more research. Thanks for sharing.

Just warms my little heart to see her tend to her little babies. You Can Tell She's on edge just like a human mother when our babies are small too, and it makes me feel so much more connected to other mammals.

That mother cat was very unhappy about her kittens being taken outside. The fact she looked so uncertain says those kittens are often taken from her, and that frequently, the kittens she relocates are taken from her again straight away. Please, don't do this! Being a mother is stressful enough- she doesn't need humans keep taking her babies on top of it!

Theres about 40 cats in this scamtuary, the fact there is a separate nursing pen that she puts the other in suggests that there are multiple litters, other cats snatch kittens not look after them

Excellent, attentive mother. Very touching and so sweet.

That was mean taking her kittens away from her. Then following her as she wanted to take her kittens back to her safe space. She didn't feel safe leaving her kitting behind as she went to get her other kittens. That's putting alot of stress and anxiety on the mother cat by not leaving her alone to take care of her kittens and protecting them, too.

The mother cat is saying "leave my babies alone l got this."

Moving the kittens is a bad idea. The momma cat will bring them back inside ASAP, except the next time she will hide them somewhere in the house instead of the den you set up for her. Trust me, you don't want the family hidden under the couch or bed.

Sometimes grown cats will freeze when you grab their scruff I don't recommend doing it often though it's funny to see

Love it. Mom cat is definitely in charge and good for her.

Like she doesn't have enough work to do without this guy fing with them. But in his defense, very nice set up for them.

That’s a very long walk for the mom to make for every trip. I’m sure it was stressful. I stopped doing that to my cat’s babies when I noticed how worried she looked. I could visibly see some type of fear on her poor face. No good. 😕.

Speaking seriously, that has just traumatised my Moe Cat. She has her own kittens, two and a half weeks old, and when she heard the kittens crying in the video, she became stressed and started searching for them. Whatever language cats use, the sound of a kitten in distress alerts all mother cats, even from thousands of miles away. There must be a huge worldwide cat collective that looks out for each other.

Mother cat had to make a decision on whether or not to leave the one kitten to retrieve the others.... she is a very good and protective mother. Agree with others to keep them together to avoid unnecessary stress to the mother...

Mummy Cats are very protective in the first two months or so. What Beautiful Kittens they are. There is one with the same fur colour as Mum. She has her job to do.🐾💗🐾💗 Did you see Mums face look up at the end to human Mum, like a Thank You.

*Unless you're taking the kittens to the vet, you really shouldn't be handling them unnecessarily, it will make the mother anxious. You took the cats from where the mom was, just to put them somewhere else, then the mother took them back. Not sure what you were doing that for. I've had cats all my life, and I would never handle newborns just to make a video, sorry*

I dont think that is hers, it is not in any other videos with this litter, i think thats why she separated it, maybe it lived in the next pen, she thought it was dangerous for kitten outside so brought it home, but i think this guy is trying to force her to raise it..he keeps adding it into videos but never a single family, just wherever he can so i guess this one has no “mother”

Mother does know best. But if they kittens and mother needs help then by all means help them if not leave alone mothers always know best. Whether human or animal

This cat feels how toxic & treacherous the weather is out there thus, protecting her Kittens from it!

The things I noticed : 1)Mom doesn't allow her kids to go out with anyone else 🙂( even though friends) 2)Giving them a 2 min view of the place and taking them home like how a mother does ( she doesn't want to break the hearts of the kids totally) 3)Separating out the naughty fellow 🙂 And cleaning the kids 🙂which again a mom only has to do 🙂
