CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Young Amir and Young Hassan enjoy flying their kites on an Afghanistan afternoon.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Finding Neverland director Marc Forster adapts author Khaled Hosseini's critically acclaimed novel about two childhood best friends forever torn apart as their country is ravaged by endless war and bitter strife. As children, Amir (Khalid Abdalla) and Hassan were inseparable; their long days under azure Kabul skies often spent getting into innocent mischief or preparing for the highly anticipated kite-fighting tournament. When the day of the tournament arrives, however, a glorious victory is quickly offset by a timorous act of betrayal that ultimately serves as the catalyst for catastrophe. Not long after that fateful day, Amir moves away to America, leaving his old friend behind just as the ominous specter of war turns tragically tangible. Two decades later, Amir returns to Afghanistan to find his beloved homeland has now fallen under the iron-fisted rule of the Taliban. Still, all hope for redemption hasn't been lost just yet, because now that Amir stands face to face with the irrepressible secrets that he struggled so vigilantly to bury, he will receive one last chance to make peace with the past, and lay the groundwork for a brighter future.

I cried and cried for little Hassan, especially when Amir was reading his letter as an adult... I lived through war as a child and had to flee my country, so something in me broke when Hassan talked about the country not being what it was when they were children. How horrid it is for people who still live through war every day, not knowing if the nightmare will ever end, living in fear for their children... I pray for you all who have gone or are going through it, I know how difficult it is and how the western world, in all their commodities and riches, are oblivious to that. May you find some inner peace despite everything that's going on.

Such a sad sad story. Makes me wish I had the power to protect everyone from such senseless violence and cruelty
The actor who played Baba deserved an Academy Award for his performance. I appreciate how he was always a gentleman, who was smooth and tough. The part where he had the face off with the Russian Soldier was one of the very best scenes in a movie ever made. The actor made him a likeable, sweet character who was thoughtful. The actor who played Baba made this movie unforgettable.
I remember crying - but no, it was not a cry, 'twas a wept. This book left a hole in my heart. Always will ❤️

Cried from the starting of the movie till the end, because i knew every detail of the story. I cried for innocent little boy hassan, for his loyalty, friendship, his honesty for Amir made me cry. It made me feel anxious to even think about how amir was so jealous, self centred and coward, he doesn't deserve hassan. Those who haven't read the novel must read it. Because so much of things are not included in the movie and we can't blame that to the director and producer right.
no words to describe the book it touched not only my heart but my soul too did not know a book could have an affect like that on you bravo Khaled bravo!!!
Aww,:'3 Hassan is such a good boy!^_^ i kinda hate Amir for what he did to him, after all his sacrifices.

Let me just cry before watching it ... cause I’ve cried like a baby while I was reading this amazing book ....❤️💔❤️
I read the book three times within two weeks. It was epic every time.
I have finished this book 2 days ago. There is no doubt that this is one of the best books ever. Amazing, heart touching novel. I read it in russian language, and I ll get english version to read as soon as possible... I recommend to everyone to read this strong novel "The Kite Runner"...
Love this movie but it left a lot of very important details from the book. Like Sanaubar (Hassan's Mother) coming back from Hassan after abandoning him for so many years. The stillborn girl of Hassan before having Sohrab. The problem with Sohrab's adaption process and most importantly the suicide attempt of Sohrab in the bathub where he cut his wrist and nearly bleed to death. They didn't include these powerful scenes from the book which proves that book will always be better than movies. ❤️
I'm currently reading the book and I am mesmerized ! I'm read half of the book and already cried so much... The worst part is that I found myself in Hasan, I would do everything for a friend, and the feels in the book hit me like a train!
I’m re-reading The Kite Runner book now and Hassan, I want to give you my warmest hug!!!! This book is one of the best!

10 yrs ago I met a Homsi poet and fell in love with him. He introduce this movie to me and though I never really watched the movie before, I read the book and it reminds me so much about his struggles during the war, my own guilt because since I live in another country , the best I could do for him is to listen to all his struggles about a friend, a family and a country.
Very strong movie, the good is that at the end he saved his nephew.

A poignant missive of shame, forgiveness and redemption.
