Another great thing to keep around is a bic lighter. I like to wrap mine in neon duct tape, which can be used as a flame extender as well as all the uses you brought up, as well as making it easier to see if I drop the lighter. Great for anything from working with paracord to various repairs and the obvious purpose of starting a fire

Im in the desert of utah for days at a time (all yr round) Eye drops on windy days are awesome to have. Super glue works great for fire starter also.

Half of this stuff I do carry currently. I've been raised to always be prepared. For the rubber band/shock cord option, another good choice is hair ties, I usually try and get them in black or brown. I used them in my assault pack to tie down the inner airborne straps among other things.

I'm assuming that these are items in addition to your 'normal' kit! My additions would be multi-vitamin/mineral supplements, wet-wipes ( a sore arse is never fun), instead of pre-made bars (which have lots of extra chemicals) I like a variety of dried fruits and nuts and beef jerky. Also, a fire kit, water filter (lots of water-borne illnesses), sewing kit, and a folding razor knife (with extra blades) which is very handy to use, weighs almost nothing, and very cheap! Instead of rubber bands, I carry ranger bands, more durable. I prefer a steno notebook because I always run out of space on those small note pads! Thank you for the video! Subbed!

5-6 inch fixed blade knife, flashlight batteries(D cell, back in the day) note pad and writing utensils, spare protractor, 50MPH tape, electrical tape was the boo boo kit, pogie bait(usually hard candy or beanie weenies) 550 cord, personal carabiner, spare 1st aid cravats and a stash of MRE toilet paper in a zip lock bag.(today I'd carry baby wipes)

Interesting tips Lucas! Lots of this is just common sense to anyone who has spent some time in the wilderness on foot, hiking, overnight or two - not 'glamping' in an RV or established campsites or rec areas. Carry your gear on your back and take a walk - a long walk!

I typically carry a little field repair kit with many of those items in it. Things you really need at times but not on a regular basis. Small GPs work great for storing it. Zip ties repaired the sole of a guy’s boot I was hiking with once. Definitely worth having some in your kit. Small tube of shoe goo or other glue is good. You can get the small Loctite glues at a Lowes or HD. Great video. Some of these things you don’t think about until it’s time to use them and you’re found wanting.

I carry the tools I need to service my powerlock on the pouch with it, if your multitool needs star bits or whatever to maintain it, keep them with it.

I was so happy I thought that was a pocket Bible. It is not. It’s a field guide. You need that Bible. It is more than just survival, combat, food, water shelter awareness preparedness comms. It is also about what you live for and stand for. Jesus Christ is king. We fight for him.
