The Kirtland Temple

Video created from drone footage of the exterior, and historical photographs of the exterior and interior of the Kirtland Temple. The Kirtland Temple was the first Temple built by members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, being dedicated on March 27, 1836.

Wonderful video! I can't wait until the Kirtland Temple comes back into the possession of the church. If the world only knew the significance of that building...the sacrifice of the people to build it, its significance in fulfilling the prophecy of Elijah's return and the keys of authority that caused the gathering of Israel to begin! These keys were conveyed to the apostle Orson Hyde, who invoked them on the Mount of Olives on October 24, 1841. “The vision of the Lord, like clouds of light, burst into my view. The cities of London, Amsterdam, Constantinople and Jerusalem, all appeared in succession before me, and the Spirit said unto me, ‘Here are many of the children of Abraham whom I will gather to the land that I gave to their fathers; and here also is the field of your labors.’” After a long and arduous trip fraught with suffering and personal sacrifice, Elder Hyde arrived in Jerusalem. That Sunday, he climbed the Mount of Olives, and just as he had seen in the vision, offered a heavenly inspired dedicatory prayer that put in motion the return of the Jews to their ancestral homeland in Palestine. ۞

What a beautiful temple! That’s where Christ came to the Prophet Joseph Smith and his brother Hyrum and spake unto them that He had accepted that house, and prophets from ancient times including Moses, Elias, and Elijah came to and restored the priesthood keys. It’s also where the Prophet Joseph Smith had a vision of his dead brother Alvin in the Celestial Kingdom along with the revelation the Lord told him in these words: “All who die without knowledge of this gospel who would have received it will be heirs to the Kingdom of God!” I love The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ history!

@@ericahensley0 That is correct. It all comes down to this: read The Book of Mormon, then pray and ask of God in the name of Jesus Christ if the book is true. And if it is true; and I testify that it is, then the Prophet Joseph Smith was a true prophet who translated the book with the power of God, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord’s restored church on the Earth. And this is not all. Behold, I testify unto you that I do know that these things whereof I have spoken are true. And how do you suppose that I know of their surety? Behold, I say unto you they are made known unto me by the Holy Spirit of God. I have fasted and prayed many days that I might know these things of myself. And now I do know of myself that they are true; for the Lord God has made them manifest unto me by his Holy Spirit; and this is the spirit of revelation which is in me.

@Scott Duffin There sadly is. I don’t normally like talking down about other religions, but it comes down to these two churches: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Community of Christ. Behold, the Community of Christ branched off from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and therefore doesn’t have a leg to stand on. For if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is wrong, so would the Community of Christ. And if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is right, the Community of Christ is wrong since they were a part of us and went out from us. They wanted to run the church their own way and contrary to what the Lord commands through the prophets of whom He calls. I testify to you of a surety that I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord’s church on the Earth, that the Book of Mormon is verily true, and the Prophet Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God who restored the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Earth.
