I just realized the significance of the painting of the eyes and the forehead. Can't believe I didn't notice it before. The painting of the forehead is for the bullet in the head that Wong Dung-Yu receives less than 30 seconds later. The painting of the eyes...? Ah man, I can't say it...Don't want to give it away if you haven't seen the film.

Honestly, the combination of John Woo + Chow Yun Fat is purely gold.

I like the 3 different camera angles before he fires at 2:58...stylish film.

First time I rented The Killer, I must have played back the bit where Yun-Fat takes off his sunglasses and does the patented Woo gunning dive about ten times. Pure awesome.

If there's one thing that I love about Chow Yun-Fat's "gun-fu" movies is that he makes sure that your body gets injected with multiple rounds -- even after shooting you in the head. As a hitman, you can't leave any hope for the victim to survive. You have to shoot em up so badly that the paramedics skip driving him to the hospital and take him straight to the cemetery.

Later in the film the gangsters claim that they only tried to kill him because he was identified during the hit, which is a big plot point in the film this is loosely a remake of (Le samouraï). But the fact they were already there waiting for him suggests that’s a lie.
