I think a big problem for new players is that there is just no direction until cra gear. No guide ever tells you what sets to go for to GET to cra, they just say get cra. Well that's a huge jump for new players that aren't getting carries.

A bit late for that but still... you will want to have full pensalir gear with at least 3% main stat pots on all of your eq. If you really want to kill the bosses faster necro gear from hilla can ba a good option too as it provides you with boss attack set bonus. Other than that just basic boss set items. Sweetwater weapon if you can, for emblem and SW Tey to get those to epic pot and get either IED if you need or att/m.att lines. All hear should be around 10-12 sf.

Ppl are still waking up to VL set which is BIS until you get CRA because of boss flames and transferrable 17* all the way to abso. Also CRA will always be a struggle since you wouldn’t have good arcane symbols on boss mules. Nodes help a LOT here, as does a good legion grid. Of course none of these are very accessoble to a new player which sucks but that’s why struggle parties are so beneficial. I honestly hope struggle parties become much more popular for this exact reason.

@@tehSupernerd VL set is a struggle since you can only get that from VL and its respective coin shop. While i get that necro set might be similar in that regard, you can clear normal and hard pretty easily and usually you just get the full set just from that while VL takes a few days to gather. Also pensalir should be enough to clear 3 doors and that set gives you dmg to normal monsters for easier training so its probably the way to go. Just 10-12 star pensalir gear with 3-6% stat pot lines and usable flames is enough damage. Ofc then you actually need to know the boss' mechs and Pierre might be tough but if you get you emblem and secondary pots to leg or unique with some decent att lines that would boost your damage more than anything at this stage of the game and also not really wasting cubes since emblem is bis and secondary you will still need some damage to kill PNo.

@@jonatan6300 normal VL gets you like 6 coins per kill you're only doing it twice for all your items. The goat flames more than make up for the %normal monster damage on pensalir by a mile. both sets are good enough for 3 doors of course but VL is way better for only 2 days' worth of boss kills. The rest I agree with tho.

For legion or link mules you can use the free pet you get from a quest at level 33 called "Have you learned about pets?". It's a 7 day pet that comes with auto HP/MP.

Just a tip for the Pets section of the video, you don't have to spend any money on a pet early if open your "Available quests" and activate the quest "Have you heard about pets?" and you'll get a free sheep pet with auto healing and meso magnet for 30 days, after that you can wait until you've beaten Hila a couple times and you'll get a Blackheart pet and you can just spend like 5 bucks on the auto hp/mp auto buff and better movement. Hope this helps some of yall :)

Great vid! Just a clear point: I started maple a few months ago, and I have a 90-day snail with autoloot, and can usenwater of life on it I believe this is given to your first character of an account. So there shouldn't be a need for new players to spend any money (unless they want the other skills, like autobuffs and so on)

I've been planning on making a new maplestory account since i wanted a fresh start so this video is super helpful. I havent played maplestory in years so this is all new to me but the reboot server looks like its a lot of fun! Im just afraid that i wont be able to progress fast since i dont have alot of time to sit down and play for hours a day like i used to. Nevertheless, this is a great video and it will definitely help me out in the near future when i start to play maplestory again!

hi! just came across your vids the other week and have gotta say the quality and thoughtfulness you put into the production is really fucking great. now for my question, when your account was on the newer side how did you find that balance to one shot in your training gear? i'm a 229 NL, and just started making my gear, so far I have a line of meso on my silver blossom and nlc ring. i was at ~14.9k and am now at like ~13.xk. i'm scared i'm gonna grief myself lol

Its gonna end up being like that for meso gear etc. but you can go through things like legion and link skills to increase damage! That's kind of the only thing you can do besides star forcing your gear, arcane force and flames/potentials.

@@minhooty thank you! Quick question when you have a minute, when is it worth to start cubing gear? I have pen gear rn mostly epic and all slots filled. I got a couple uniques earlier accidentally, but from what I understand they don’t transfer over when I transfer hammer? Or is that just legendary stats is it worth investing in red cubes at such an early stage? I bought 10 red and 10 blue earlier and I got decent stats for now, but I spent most of my money and I feel like I messed up now. Sorry to rant thank you!

When you transfer the highest potential tier is Epic, so you can keep it at Epic until you get CRAs! Tbh a lot will say don't perfect your potentials until you 22 star but I do it whenever I feel lucky haha

I think the pet package needs a bit of a quick look. Yeah everything is discounted, BUT it does include Expired Pickup and Ignore Item (which aren't necessary) plus the totally useful pet food /s. And you can't use RP with the package. If you buy each pet skill individually with RP (which will definitely be aplenty soon...) it comes out cheaper. (I did the math once on the spot, but I don't have the numbers now) For bossing mules (on a different "race" /cash shop) you can always trade / solo bosses like Hard Hilla and that one ninja castle toad boss. Not guaranteed but you only need 1 to last you 3 months - and you can do the ninja castle boss daily.

Depends on the character! They have to be within the same race, explorers share, cygnus knights share, flora class share etc. Explorers ans Cygnus have different cash shops. Its really dumb but thanks Nexon lol

How would you prioritize stats vs meso/drop gear? I havent played in a while but when I did it was the general consensus that you should use boss cubes to get atleast 6/9% stat on all your gears including accessories. Is the value from meso/drop more beneficial in this case? especially considering the %stat ud be losing + the cost of actually tiering things up to legendary.

It depends on whether you’re cubing for your main or a mule! For mules stat gear can be epic or unique and that’s enough depending on how much you want to invest. For your main you’ll definitely want to hit legendary on everything. I just made a video on potentials actually! Check it iut for sure, but meso and drop gear are essential accessories. You only need 5 lines of meso, you can do drop later. Everything else of all your items (except your WSE) should be stat %. You’ll be spending most of your time training in meso gear, so you need to know how to train with it and how much damage you need. So personally I say, 5 meso lines ( maybe 2 drop lines also) then stat gear. But you also want to hit 2L att on your weapon, your secondary and emblem!

@@minhooty I’m a little late, but you need 64% drop to get meso bags to drop 100% of the time. So I recommend 3 lines of drop and use HS for the last 4%. Plus with recent changes having more drop is better since you can get more nodes and droplets. Using those nodes you can either boost ur mains dmg more or you can fund a bossing mule to around CRA for 1bil per week. 1.9 bil if you get it to nlomien. Which really solves the meso issue if you aren’t super pinched for meso

Would you consider meso/drop rate gear still crucial if I'm just a casual player that only does daily symbols and weekly bosses? 😅 I probably only spend 1 hour per day playing and get too tired from grinding

Hmm, I would say just drop gear if anything! Meso gear is more so for training and people who grind often. Otherwise drop gear is more beneficial as you’ll get faster daily drops, better drops from bosses etc!

Maybe the games changed since this video has dropped but as a new player i disagree with meso being better then drop. You under estimate the power of node stones. Like you mention with bosses, ursus, maple tour it's not too bad to get meso early to make basic stuff. If you have a bunch of money but never got any critical drops to spend it on whats the point

Cost reduction using rep makes it cheaper, and if you care about efficiency I'd probably suggest going for more than one pet with extended loot.

Yep, 3 is always awesome!

It is honestly better to get drop gear for your first 3 items due to meso bag droprate being 67%. Not only do you get 50% meso meso, you get 60% more droplets, nodestones, fams and cubes from bosses. Then after 2-3 pieces of drop, you get meso to increase your rates.

I highly disagree, just run a mesos familiar (50%) with holy symbol you instantly reach it (can get on rare fams so you'll get that if you just work a little bit on your legion and storage all rare fams)

@@nirorit Not a bad route, gl getting the fams tho. Getting at least 2 drop gear isn't hard at all as you can keep this pot until the end of time. Also, you only need 5 meso lines across all your accessories, allowing at least 4 lines of drop. Not only that, you get more fams out of it with drop gear xDDDDD

Strongly disagree on meso v drop. Drop is king pretty destiny because most of your meso should come from bosses anyways and your goal is to make bossing mules. Plus drop had meso bag drop rates which increases meso rates as well. Plus you can get more droplets and cubes and flames which are huge meso savers as well. Drop also gets you more familiars when you got Morass, which is where you'll get more drop rates familiars and boss familiars. Plus the nodes being drastically more common means you can more easily level up home symbol which is more drop rate as well as fund your account to create bossing mules with more and more free cubes, flames, familiars drillers and so on. While it does have an effective limit based on time played, it's a self amplifying benefit where meso is easily obtained in bossing.

Its 90 days! Then you have to buy a revive water of life, however if you do your daily bosses you can buy a revive potion from the Maple Rewards shop so you don’t have to spend more money! You should definitely have enough before the 90 days doing your daily bosses and collecting your reward points.

Dont u swap cra gear out with arcane umbra or absolab?
