Yep, there is nothing wrong with crying. But Shiva is a God and he did not cry. And you are saying that Lord Shiva cries that's why he is called Bholenath which is wrong. He is known as Bholenath because he gives blessings and boons very easily as compared to other deities. And God is completely free from love and affection. These things are called "Maya" and the gods are free from it.

@@utkarsh4424 😂 you're bad at interpreting things. Nowhere did I mention of calling Shivji as Bholenath owing to the crying! Shiva has immense love along with anger and one more thing this "cry" which usually humans do ain't what the term cry is used for our Shiva. Words have different meanings in different contexts. I don't wanna argue hereafter cuz at the end we're all followers of Shiva. ❤️

If we only talk about the serial, then I clearly remember Lord Shiva doing tandav when he knew about Sati's death, and the entire Kailash was set ablaze depicting His anger. The scene was followed by another scene where Lord pulls out a strand of his hair which created Veerbhadra and thus, the Lord ordered him to sever Prajapati Daksha's head. Things were shown in the serial. Now coming back to the point, even if the Lord didn't cry, still He was pained at the loss of his beloved. He was in grief. And crying is definitely not a sign of weakness or cowardice. His tears depict the immense love He had for Her and the separation. Not only Shiva, even Lord Ram wept when he was separated from Mata Sita because of the society. But does it make Lord Ram weak, rather we say that how He sacrificed His love for His kingdom and people. I see nothing wrong in crying. (Sorry if I have offended anyone, but this is my opinion.) And a request, pleasse don't call Lord Shiva as a demigod. He is God. In fact, Brahma-Vishnu-Mahesh are the divine trinity right, and they worship each other. So all of them are equal.

Srimad Bhagavatam 8.12.26-30 ”The beautiful woman was already naked, and when She saw Lord Siva coming toward Her, She became extremely bashful. Thus She kept smiling, but She hid Herself among the trees and did not stand in one place. His senses being agitated, Lord Siva, victimized by lusty desires, began to follow her, just as a lusty elephant follows a she-elephant. Being embraced by Lord Siva like a female elephant embraced by a male, the woman, whose hair was scattered, swirled like a snake. O King, this woman, who had large, high hips, was a woman of yogamaya presented by the Supreme Personality of Godhead. She released Herself somehow or other from the fond embrace of Lord Siva’s arms and ran away.” I'm an ex hindu. Alhamdulillah I was guided out of paganism and into the truth of Islam. Do you really think a god that has the same human desires as us is really god? Do you think a god that is lusting over a woman that is not his wife is worthy of worship. Allah is nothing like his creation. Allah is closer to you then your juggler vain without being the creation. Allah is all knowing, all seeing, all hearing, and good. @@LakeSide-nx9ol Lord vishnu and shiva are same and supreme being that's why he was able to control shiva , but not for very long. After some time shiva realised the concept of maya (Desire of anything). And stopped chasing Vishnu and than Lord came into his actually form and told that ever thing was an illusion created by Lord himself that means shiv ji did nothing to the women it was just in his mind and it was about over coming maya from his human form. In his God of destruction form he already conquered ever inner urges, it was only about his human form so that Lord Vishnu can teach other human beings about Maya.Yeh leh real meaning aur kahi aur maa chuda.

This scene is in mahadev series. And shiv is not demigod. He is God. Jai jagganath 🙏

The word ‘DEV’ aka “देवता” doesn't even mean God (भगवान) or (ईश्वर) in sanskrit, it means a deity only, and thus Maha-deva means a chief of all deities (not God) like Devraj Indra, Surya Dev, Chandra Dev, Agni Dev, Varun Dev, Kaam Dev, Mrityu Dev, Samudra Dev and even Pavan Dev are not actually God, they are deities of Hinduism, and lord Shiva is on top among them... Only Narayana is the Supreme God of multiverse universe. And hence supreme GOD Narayana i.e Vishnu is described as both eternal incorporeal and corporeal Supreme God at the same time in Vedas. Here's the text verse from Veda- *“विश्व व्यापनोति परमात्मा इति विष्णु”* MEANING: “The formless Supreme Soul that pervades and permeates the Universe is Vishnu.”

What's wrong if bhagwan Shiva cried carrying sati on His shoulders...this shows His love for His wife...the same Shiva did tandava and created Virbhadra from His hair to kill daksha...I don't find anything wrong if he behaved like a common man...we love Him and worship Him for what He is...Har Har Mahadev.

Actually, all this was shown in the serial. They also shown the fight between Vishnu and Shiva when Vishnu was trying to protect Daksh. At that time Shiva cut the head of Daksh and it all happended when Shiva know that Sati is no more. After doing all this, Shiva took Sati's body. So, I want to say that, all this was clearly shown in the serial.

It was veera bhadra who cut daksh 's head not lord shiva. Lord shiva restored daksh's life by giving him goat head. And veera bhadra born from shiva's Jataajutam (hair) when he threw it on the ground.

If someone really wants to learn about the whole situation there's shiva purana, guru's and knowledgeable people who know better. Abd even if he cried it shows his true devotion to his wife. Lord shiva is known as a yogi, he loves everyone and everything but he doesn't have a 'moh' or fond of anything. And this was the first and last time he showed emotions like sorrow and anger. Lord shiva is the kindest and when he's angry, the whole universe witnesses the danger. And all this is bhagwan ki leela, there's a lot of education and learning inside every such story and steps which are for human kind. Don't you think if shiva is the most powerful and dev adi dev mahadeva, couldn't he reverse everything, didn't he know what's going to happen, couldn't he just avoid the whole situation in the past only, there's a learning for humans that even if god is the omnipresent and omnipowerful he isn't using his powers and saadhna anytime he wants. He shows us that humans shouldn't exploit the resources they have however whenever they want. Lord shiva granted booms to even asuras didn't he know they aren't going to be a danger, he could have simple fused the boom and kill the asuras then and there but he didn't there's a limit that lords follow and they never contradict their vachan (promise). And non-hindus or ppl think that 'what a god who cries'

Shiv wept as he cradled Sati's lifeless body in his arms, leading to the formation of the Shakti pit. His love for his wife was profound, and for the next 50 years, he neither ate nor married anyone, waiting for Parvati to be born. The portrayal of his tears amplifies his divine nature. By the way, the reference you mentioned is Shiva's invocation of Virabhadra (which was partially shown in a TV series). Bhadrakali also emerged from Sati's fury. Virabhadra is the one who decapitated Daksh. As the soldiers perished, Daksh's body lay there, bleeding. Shiv approached and wept while holding Sati. Just imagine losing half of yourself; that was exactly how he felt. He granted Daksh a goat's head because it wasn't his time to die. Then he left with Sati's lifeless body, he danced and wept in a mix of anger and sorrow, embodying one of the forms of Natraj. I find huge problem with people like you who thinks crying is weakness but crying out loud, emotional, and feeling are very important. You should find that in a god and you can’t find in Demon ( terrorist) . I don’t know who is preaching you but shiv is not a Demi god.

When I was just a little girl I heard the story of lord Shiva how he carried mata Sati's body after her death. Although my grandfather and my dad never mentioned about Shiva crying but I think there is nothing wrong with God crying. It just shows that we as humans are also just a part of him and we can experience god in so many levels in our life.

Firstly, there is no mention in the Shiv Maha Puran of the fact that Lord Shiva cried like a madman wandering around earth like a dejected Romeo after Mata Sati's immolation. So what they've shown in the serial is completely wrong and contradicts the holy scriptures written by Sage Ved Vyasa.

Shiva crying for Sati Devi is an act of love not cowardice. I think it reaffirms the fact that the world does have its rules and even God have to follow these. If gods would not follow these, it would be chaos without any rules. That’s what I always liked about Shiva Parvati, Radha Krishna, Ram Sita was the love that binds them together and the respect that they have for their goddess “ardhangini”

@@PerfectStranger1623 there is a book called swasthani that nepali people follow religiously for 1 month every night one adhyaya is read and as per that not ony he cried but also carried her lifeless body around until it started rotting and each piece that fell on the ground, a religious place was established, but since most indian hindus are as kattar as muslims and are not open to discussion, i would not argue the likes of you.

There are different variation of same pastime in different scriptures. Shivpuran has different story than Srimad Bhagwatam. Moreover if Lord cries for his wife, that shows his extra emotional power and not that he is common man like us.

No doubt she explained very well, but beware the Demigod word doesn't exist in Sanatan Dharma. One should read Translation from an authentic source, and on the first hand read directly in Sanskrit...Read Upnishad to have non sectarians understanding of Sanatan Dharma. For. Eg. Muktiko upnisad Bhagwan Ram conversation with Hanumanji. Bhagwat Gita has many translations and everyone claims that they are authentic translation Authentic translation is one which is in line with Upnisads, so to understand BG first read 108 Upnishads and then BG directly in Sanskrit

You can differentiate between any other version and BBT that means ISKCON's Bhagavad Gita, by reading you will come to know about which one is actually bonafide! Also Bhagavad gita is also known as Gitopanisad. It is the essence of Vedic knowledge and one of the most important Upanisads in Vedic literature. So there is no need to first understand any other shastras... Another thing is that if we understand it properly or not that the things are written in the shastras that if we misinterpret or misunderstand....

What is your explanation of 51 pithasthan? Like Kamakhya temple?

The problem with us Hindus is firstly we don't read scriptures, secondly we see our Dharma from the Abrahamic lens of religion. The major difference between Sanatan Dharma and other religions is that in other faiths, it is the scriptures which lead to devotion or faith but in Hinduism, Bhakti can also lead to creation of new scriptures. We have different versions of Ramayan in local areas about miniscule details but we still agree on the larger picture. The story of Bhagwan Shiv carrying parthiv shareer of Mata Sati has been told to me by my grandfather long before the serial came into existence. My problem with us Hindus' attitude is that we submit to the Abrahmic narrative. Why do we become defensive? Why do we need to interpret our Dharma in a manner suited to them? Why can't we just own our faiths? Even if Bhagwan Shiv cried, how does it matter. He loved Mata Sati so it's only natural for him to cry. He performed a Tandav he was that angry on Mata Sati's demise. We Hindus always get defensive like when they say that you worship phallus and we get defensive like no it's just a symbol, energy and all. The moment you try to defend it, they have won. The Abrahmic narrative has won because now it's not just them who think worshipping phallus is horrendous, it's you. Today it's Ling Puja, tomorrow you will be defensive about Murti Puja and then they will finally succumb you to believe that God should be worshipped only the way they do it. So please, stop submitting to them. Take pride in every cultural practice that you've cherished for centuries. Say it with pride that our concept of Gods or deities is beyond your ability to comprehend things. Say it with pride that we worship Ling and Yoni because that is the driving force of life in this universe. Stop being ashamed about your own culture.

It's not through Abrahamic lens, even in vedic time not all puranic Gods are worshipped, for example there is certain category people in Hindus they don't worship many God's nd Idols, not like that is sin but like their spirituality reached so high they don't need idols anymore, According to Hinduism Murthy worship is not wrong but least form of worship, with time we need to improve our concentration and spirituality we need to understand all Gods shiva vishnu krishna Parvati represents one formless God in different aspects..All are one.

@@Miniflower25 Again, you are taking the distinction between Nirgun and Sagun to be vertical whereas it is horizontal, which means there are some sects which worship God through a form and there are some who worship the formless. The problem arises when formless ones or form worshiping ones try to establish their supremacy. In Hinduism, we have great Sant/Mahatmas on both sides of worship. Secondly, yes there are some gods which were not worshipped in Vedic times, but that does not mean that those should not be worshipped now? And nowhere in Hinduism is Murti Puja seen as the lowest form of worship. In Yog school of philosophy you need Dharna the 6th Anga of Yoga, which is an object to focus upon. Tulsidas Ji used to do Murti Puja. Are you trying to imply that these new age Vedic revivalists know Dharma better than Sant Tulsidas Ji who wrote Ramcharitmanas? I'm saying this again and again. Do not do this. Do not look down upon Murti Puja as a lower form of worship because you have no idea that how these arguments are used against Hindus by the other side. The distinction between Nirgun and Sagun is beautifully described in this doha by Tulsidas Ji :- हियँ निर्गुन नयनन्हि सगुन, रसना राम सुनाम। मनहुँ पुरट संपुट लसत, तुलसी ललित ललाम॥

But because of misinterpretation of Vedas people liked this Shiva with the Shiva of Vedas (one of the name of supreme formless god)

I followed Islam and couldn't bear it. I started with how merciful Allah is and how best Muhammad is. In fact I believed him to be the best man on earth to ever walked. I felt peace and also became very focused on what I wear, I eat, my prayers etc. I was merely listening to Qur'anic verses. Never read it that one day I decided to read and understand Qur'an. In between I felt the need to get my daily life practices in alignment with religion and I refered hadees a lot. Believe me, once I started reading hadees(sahih obviously) I lost my mind, Muhammad's character came out different than what I was taught. He was a filthy man who 'loved' children. Not only did he marry a 6 year old, he encouraged his caravan men to marry young girls so that you can play with them. Traded slaves, was very anti woman and fabricated stories.His character is beyond any holy, twisted everything on basis of his own interests. For example, his adopted son was married to a woman called Zaynab, he lusted on her, got married to her and then gave a revelation of Qur'an to justify his odd behaviour. Still I continued with Qur'an and there to a lot of loopholes. Allah verified Muhammad and Muhammad verified Allah. Soon I realised Qur'an was Muhammad's own creation. I saddened me to core, because you need a religion to comfort your heart. I believe in God but not in Muhammad's God who is rageful and can throw you in hellfire, so exploring other religions.

If you really watched this episode then you know that, satti mata was human, other gods made situation that shiv has to marry her, he was crying so every god knows how an human feel when his loved one dies So next time if gods do something then they can first imagine how it will effect to human mind .

In the comment section I saw some folks are talking about what's bad in lord Shiva's crying portrait so the problem is when lord kama try to triggered lord Shiva ,it didn't effected him at all so how you can think he'll start crying on death of Mata sati?
