I agree, seems like everything about the song has a much brighter tenor to it, and makes me feel like this is much more of a song of hope than what it felt like before.

Best version of this song in the world. 10 years later, I'm here again. Congrats my friends

Agreed. Rock music in general missed a trick when beautiful acoustic with harmonies were replaced by huge heavy distorted guitars. Days of the new is a good example of a heavy sounding acoustic band.

Love the Harmonies. AIC did some amazing Harmonies that aren't always easy to pick out and figure out. The harmonies they chose a lot of times were color tones of the chords underneath, making the chords Into 7th or 11th chords and stuff like that. Not like a lot of harmonies that are based around the chord tones. I love how dark and dense they made it sound. Jerry was a genius songwriter and I'm sure he had a lot to do with most of the harmony choices. Layne ended up being just as good at it, except he had a bigger range. That is rare even on a good day.

there's an explanation on Wikipedia about the jar of flies ep saying Jerry came up with most of the harmonies on the spot

that was one of the best covers of any alice in chains song i've heard.

The difficultly level to make this one sound good is really up there. Its really a studio classic tune more than a live song.

I know I’m late but man...the harmonies are just so beautiful. It yanks on my heart strings. You guys killed it! This is definitely one of my top 5 AIC songs, and one of my top 10 of all time. Amazing job guys! Grunge isn’t dead as long as we hold it dear.

I think I've listened to this cover 200 times. Harmonies and acoustic are vital in rock music and why rock isn't so popular. Please do more covers with harmonies.
