i met her in argentina after a bikini kill show and she was so nice and gave me a hug. it was amazing

We shouldn't really talk about Riot Grrls anymore, we should talk about Riot Women. Bikini Kill don't need Will Smith as a "protector" slapping body shamers. The entire band is liable to step off the stage and slap you body shaming idiots silly themselves! And look out for the fans too!

I am way stoked on this!! SO thankful that I grew up being able to appreciate passionate things like this. To each their own, but I feel a little sorry for kids that didn't get to grow up feeling like they were a part of something bigger than themselves. Not sure how I feel about my teenage years being considered retro, but if it means that it will breath new life into the music I love, then I have no qualms! Kathleen looks fucking fantastic. Like real woman and not some airbrushed plastic doll.

I always found it a bit confusing however cause I thought the point of feminism was to develop a mutual respect between men and women but constructing a gender specific "club" seems to me to create a gap between sexes?? establishing womens rights is an important thing but creating an idea of gender superiority can only have a negative outcome..

It's not an idea of gender superiority. Rather, it's about intentionally focusing on women in a culture where focus on men is the default except when dealing with women as objects, and not just accepting being mistreated by men because "boys will be boys".
