Please don't misinform and spread without knowledge, it's a sin. There is no such thing as keeping a written copy to keep you safe. Taweez is not allowed in islam

Please be careful when advising keeping a written copy on you for protection is not an Islamic concept and actually renders that object similar to an amulet which is definitely prohibited

If he is the reason should be obvious given the targeting of any noble person in this world and he has stated several times of the death threats not just he but his wife got even throughout her pregnancy

He has also stated that outside his own masjid gun toting Americans would pace to try and threaten and intimidate the Muslims there. He's mentioned it including in a relatively recent interview. Sad state of affairs the world over. The ulema are not safe in Muslim majority countries (if you doubt this you obviously have been asleep re Egypt Saudi Arabia etc ) and also other countries
