The Journey Is Over 🇷🇺
This journey that started for me aged 17 in Anna’s Russian class has now come to an end. I have been officially banned from Russia for a period of three years. What great memories were created. From the villages of the Komi republic to the mountains of Dagestan, to the Siberian forests and Baikal, we have experienced so many adventures. I'll always remember the amazing Russian people I met with great fondness but it's time to to bring the curtain down.
Glory to the USSR!

I am shocked that Bald is banned. He was truly the only person throwing a good light on Russia and its citizens.
A Word from Bald: "I've been in bed convalescing for ten days so not been able to discuss what happened in Russia. I will discuss it in future because it is a belter of a story but I was accused of criticizing Vladimir Putin. After a few days in the cells I was taken to an office of an MVD officer ( ministry of internal affairs ) who said 'Whether you get just a fine or a long prison stretch depends on how sorry you are for what you said and your justification for saying it.' In that moment you have a decision to make: either be a hero and get five years in a concrete cell or say 'Glory to Putin!' and go home to enjoy your life with your family and friends again. I took the second option without hesitation which is why I'm writing this from my comfy bed and not from a concrete cell in Birobidzhan. I'm not Russian or Ukrainian and won't be martyring myself for any of their causes. The only shield I'll ever fall on will be covered in the Union flag. (UK) Anyway before I'm feeling better and speak again I will say that I wasn't treated badly. In fact the director of the prison 'Tarass' was a bloody good bloke who brought me extra noodles to eat ( bloody rolton though and not doshirak t] ). My only regret is I wasn't there long enough to get a badass Russian prison tattoo. Everything else was cool. Scary as fuck, but cool at the same time to get the ultimate Soviet experience. Right now my friend @lanasator is languishing in an Albanian prison on trumped up spying charges. I'm working with others to get her decent legal representation and get her home. It's a dangerous job at times."
This is the most Soviet ending possible to Bald's travels.
I am Russian, I live in Russia and I've watched every video about Benjamin's trip across my country. There is no one like him. Best. Travel. Vlogger. This is a big loss for Russia. Bald has been showing Russia to the world, he showed the places and the situations that give a feel of real Russia, not a tourist image. This channel brought Russians and people from other countries closer, raised interest and understanding. I'm sorry about the decision to ban Bald. Greetings from Moscow

Hey Bald you've made a huge difference in my life since discovering your channel. I started learning Russian because you inspired me. I've never given this much to a KZread creator before, but your series is beyond excellent. Your channel, as well as NFKRZ really changed my perspective about Russia in a positive way. I began learning the language in earnest in 2020, and will continue despite recent horrific events. I've resigned myself to the obvious fact that I will never visit Russia myself, but through your videos I feel like I've been there with you throughout your journey. Being in Russian prison must've been terrible, and terrifying. This journey was well worth the $50 if you ask me. Thank you so much for bringing myself and others along for the journey of a lifetime across Russia, across borders into a place that was otherwise pretty foreign to me. My favorite part was definitely the people we met. My mother and I particularly liked it when you met Colya, the elderly gentleman that appeared to have early stages of Parkinsonism. I don't know what it is that really endeared us to him, but my mother keeps asking me if you've gone back to see him. The other one, which is just iconic, is when you were drinking homemade wine with some babushkas at their house. And, of course, when you and NFKRZ hung out together. You've gone to so many places, but nothing will top when you got to touch an actual Soviet space shuttle recently. I wish that Russia would open up to the world and let more people visit because there's so much diversity and culture in Russia that is going unappreciated. The people of Russia deserve much better than what they are getting right now, but I won't go down that track right now. Sorry for so many words, but thank you for at least the entertainment, but at most for introducing me to a fascinating place, culture, and people called Russia.

Carry on with your incredible and heartwarming content! With all the love, your fellow russian chav❤️
Parting is such sweet sorrow. No one does soviet adventurising as well as Ben. Thanks for taking us along, it was a hell of a ride!
I'm from Russia. When I discovered your channel a few years ago, I was amazed at how warmly a foreigner can feel about this country. Even among russians there are very few such people. I confess I was skeptical myself. But you have rediscovered my own country for me. Thank you, the best person on KZread. Peace to all on this planet🕊

What a wonderful, poignant, thoughtful ending to one of the most wonderful channels on this site. I've never heard of or met anyone as friendly or as adventurous as you Ben, and I know I speak for everyone when I say we are all so happy to have you here to take us on that journey. I've seen a lot of comments about how wonderful and interesting ur videos are so i won't echo that sentiment ad nauseum, but what I will draw attention to is how genuine and warm you are as a person. We are all very lucky to have known you vicariously through your many interactions and there will always be an audience here for you if you ever chose to come back. There is plenty of Eastern Europe and the 'stans still to see! Although that being said i cant think if a better ending than this! That ending compilation was enough to make a grown man cry
This series was amazing let’s start a petition to get him unbanned ❤
It was an experience like watching a movie that lasts 3 years. Thank you for taking us from our homes and showing the lives of people as real as possible.
I don’t usually comment on anything. My son started watching you when he was still in high school. He is 21 now. He showed me and my husband your channel. My son has been teaching himself how to speak Russian because of your videos. You showed this family in America how beautiful the people and the country are. I am heartbroken that there will be no more Russian adventures. Thank you for the beauty that you have brought into my home. Good luck on your future travels.

I was born in Russia, and am unsure of when I’ll be able to return from the USA to visit again, but I’m so thankful to you for showing the real people of Russia. I wish you the very best! With love, and gratitude. Thank you, -Andrei
Thank you for strengthening the common ground that is above all nationalities- human being.
that montage at the end felt kinda sad and nostalgic yet left me with a smile on my face. thank you bald for taking us on this amazing journey,, excited to see what comes.

This was truly an inspiring series Benjamin. Your camera and eyes have given us a necessary look into the real world of former Soviet land. Thanks for all your efforts and stay bald!
Thank you for all the entertainment and the fun I had watching your russia/soviet series! Greetings from Poland!
Bald really changed my perspective on that whole side of world, I always used to think it was really just a dusty place left behind in time. But Bald showed us not only the rich history that is there but the good people and good times that are to be had there. A journey im very happy I was around to enjoy. Thank you Bald, and cheers to whatevers next

Wou, lyfe is lyfe. The same good old "national" states with the local masters of lyfe and selling the labour resources abroad for inadequate pay. Who'd believe that it's the same here? I'd needed to watch 1000 of bald's vids to understand this...
Bald, for you next adventure travel through rural United States. As I watched your travels in post Soviet Russia I was always struck by the similarities of rural US.
Growing up I was always fascinated with what life was like behind the Iron Curtain. When the wall came down I got to see some of what life was like in the former Soviet states. However Bald and Bankrupt gave me/us the greatest view of all! Thank you for that Benjamin. Thank you for showing me Belarus like no one else. Now I feel like the Iron Curtain is going back up and that saddens me.
The irony of it is amazing, one of the few people on the planet right now that has anything positive to say about Russia, and shows the human side of Russia and its culture and history, is deported. Truely amazing.

That noise you hear is the sound of a million babushka's hearts breaking. Loved your travels throughout Russia and the former USSR. I "traveled" along with your videos, using Google Earth. It was fun finding the places you stopped at along the way, sometimes it was a little tricky finding the locations using just your videos, but I really enjoyed it.
