The Journey Begins | 1883 | Paramount+
It’s a tale we’re all familiar with, but it’s never been told like this. Watch 1883 exclusively on Paramount+.
#ParamountPlus #1883
1883, a Yellowstone origin story, follows the Dutton family as they embark on a journey west through the Great Plains toward the last bastion of untamed America. From Academy Award nominee Taylor Sheridan, co-creator of Yellowstone, 1883 is a stark retelling of Western expansion, and an intense study of one family fleeing poverty to seek a better future in America’s promised land - Montana.

What an excellent, truly excellent show 1883 has become. I just can't imagine anybody else producing a show of this quality like Taylor Sheridan is.

We had watched Yellowstone already so our expectations were pretty high, with that being said, we were disappointed in 1883, I thought it focused too much on the daughters drama than the actual substance of the journey. I was hoping for more Dutton family and we got more Dutton daughter. I am hoping 1923 is better.
I’m so thankful to Taylor, because he’s bringing the world the best that cowboy culture have, the beggining of the big ranches and good stuff like that. Thank you Shreridan for valuing cowboy culture and traditions, please don’t let it die on TV!! 🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Taylor Sheridan has written some of my favorite movies and now one of my favorite tv series
Man i can't imagine what a masterpiece 1883 & Yellowstone can be🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This show taught how tough our ancestors were and how easy we have it! What they did pave the way for us.

Well, i'm no historian but heading north in 1883 in a wagon train seems kind of redundant as they could just have taken the railroad train. The tickets would likely have been a lot cheaper than stocking up on all those Colts and lever action rifles. It must have cost them a fortune "fleeing from poverty". ...Other than all the weird claims and logical errors, it's a pretty entertaining piece of fictional drama.

Wow I just can't get over how 1883. Excellent and Extraordinary show, one of the best and greatest western I seen in years.. Yellowstone 💛 is one of my most favorites shows. Now I can't get enough of 1883. It put you on the edge of your seat and keeps you gussing . That's why I watch Yellowstone and 1883 very week
SAM ELLIOTT really elevates this entire production. He brings Taylor’s whole movie a lift!!
Wow....this is a gift....truly....Thank you Taylor for bringing this to life, and the Actors, just magnificent...I mean....Billy Bob Thornton is one of my favorites....and then there's Sam Elliott...dear lord... another favorite, so exciting 🍂
Taylor... Whoever had the vision for these clips to appear on KZread, is super genius as well. I really appreciate it. When I saw the title in my notifications? I thought to myself... I'm all caught up. I'm patiently awaiting the next episode I don't need to rewatch it. I should have known better... Glad I went with my gut. So thankful I didn't let this delicious morsel go undigested. Thank you for your brilliance.
I just watched all of 1883 and having never watched Yellowstone you did a great job as I could watch without having that background. It actually tantalized me to go and watch an episode or two of Yellowstone. I was drawn to the 1800s theme, the wagon train traveling the Oregon trail, and the Native Americans interaction. Congratulations on a great job!
Finally, a portrayal of some of the real hardships that were endured to settle this country.

To be fair though, the country was mostly settled by 1883. By 1869, the transcontinental railroad was completed and you could take a train from New York and be in San Francisco in 6 days. I think somewhere during the show someone even mentioned "why aren't they on a train?" Big wagon trains like this, while not necessarily obselete, were definitely more routine and relatively safer by the 1880's than they were in the 50's and 60's when most of the original pioneers travelled west.

Probably the best western show in a decade and my tears was flowing down in the end for that white golden haired girl. What a show.😢💔👍
Absolutely INCREDIBLE show!
Taylor, this is obviously a novel. Just like 1923 has 4 novels in one. Yellowstone is one big novel and the modern version of Big Valley, and Bonanza all in one. I'm watching everything like you intended- Yellowstone first, then, 1923, then 1883. I see the character development in Yellowstone and how it's back story. Your characters in 1923 for Alex and Spencer remind me of Raiders of The Lost Ark. It's a separate love story altogether. And thank you for extending the time of each show.
This is a remarkably good show. Perfectly written, [perfectly cast. And the acting is just fabulous. Best show I have seen in a long time. DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW.....

While I can understand that perspective of being entertained, this show is more about shining a light on the real-life drama, the hardships, and the authenticity of the time. Sorry, but real-life isn't always an action movie.

This show is amazing. What a coming out party for Isabel May.
Amazing series. Wow. Great finale
Sam eliot is the man you bring on tv to make other men cry .
Watching 1883 has made it clear to me that John Dutton of Yellowstone has to hold on to Yellowstone - his ancestors went through all this to get to Yellowstone - I see the history so clear of what makes these people in the later story - I do feel the honour, and authenticity of 1883 is not in ALL Yellowstone characters but I love both series very much.
Faith Hill shot a bandit with a shotgun she left with the cowboy guarding her son in the last episode. Poor form on the staked plains where everything you meet wants to bone you bite you or fight you. The cowboy who played Goodnight is a first class writer.
It's very similar to the lonesome dove series . Lotta similarities. Both are the story of a group traveling the untamed west and the hardships that they experience.
Wish we could go back to the way things were 135 years ago
1883 only show(western) that can stand in the same sentence with Lonesome Dove👍🏻👑

Just sad we can't stream it on Direct TV unless we buy about $300 of equipment to modify our 12 year old TV and then buy the streaming channel Paramount '+.....monthly....that's a big cost to see it for retired older viewers. Good as it gets...
Never watched Yellowstone and have no desire to. Was intrigued by #1883 simply because of title. Being a bit of a history buff and noticing a possible "Buffalo Soldier" in the ads, I watched first full episode here on YT. Was hooked immediately. Paid the $4.99 subscription and it's the only program watched on #ParamountPlus (who has time to watch so much TV?). I have been mostly impressed by the historical accuracy, then, of course, the acting. A few times I've had difficulty hearing lines and I wonder if it's only me. Anyway, had to comment and give a thumbs up. Still won't be watching Yellowstone, but my account is being zapped awaiting 1883 episode releases. See you on The Plains!
And now Their traveling and journey begins in 1883

Remember one thing, James Dutton was a captain in the confederacy, so he is educated and comes from money. His sister displays this in her condescension towards the people around her in the pilot.
