I read this and loved it all. Also proves my point why Red hood and Punisher and so on are more effective. "You can't stop crime. That's what you never understood. You want to rule them by fear. But what do you do with the ones who AREN'T afraid? I'm doing what you won't. I'm taking them OUT." -Redhood/Jason Todd. "You hit them and get back up, I hit them and they stay down." -Punisher/Frank Castle.

The multiple Harley’s thing was actually something that was hinted at in the New 52 during the Death of the Family storyline. Joker tries to get Harley to comback but she’s will the Suicide Squad and has learned to be her own person again, and then he threats to chain in the basement with all “the other” and then we see a panel of a skeleton handcuffed to a pipe in a basement that’s wearing Harley’s clothes.

That was an amazing story, just as interesting as the secret empire maybe even more. I think the idea came from that comics. Having the hero become an antihero but this time we got a villain who became an antihero sort off. This anwers the one underlying issue batman and superhero story has which is if they are actually helping. Or if a supervillain disappears, what would happen. It's definitely no they dont help at all in a social way. Sure earth or a city is saved but at what cause. And we see that villains just get replaced as long as there is a hero.

10:00:30 personally, i think its the culmination of a NUMBER of factors that led to jack being able to take down batman there. First off, there's the emotional connection, batman is blinded by his anger towards this man who in his mind probably seemed to uproot his entire existence, who in his mind is still the joker and even if he wont admit it, is his greatest villain. that's GOTTA throw a guy off balance. second of all, jack hadn't had a LOT of training, but he's a really smart guy, like, as they say in the comic, he's beyond genius level i believe i recall them saying. that's gotta count for something for a guy who's training with a HIGHLY skilled martial arts practitioner, especially since he both has knowledge of batman's fighting style from uh... being on the "receiving end" of it for like they say, DECADES, as well as the fact that like he says, he's basically on steroids, he's in pretty peak condition at that point, as well as being in probably a lot of fights, maybe not highly skilled fights but certainly fights, over the decades as the joker. Thirdly, and finally, Batman is just straight up overconfident, this is a guy he's been fighting over and over for decades and has never truly lost to. in his mind, there's NO way in which jack is going to beat him, and jack is taking that advantage and running with it as well as using somewhat underhanded tactics by choking him out with his own utility belt. anyways, that's just my thoughts on the matter, i think its totally plausible that under all those circumstances Jack took down the bat.

I love the irony of what Jack Napier is doing. Batman is a hardcore believer in the Judicial System. That despite its flaws, it more times than not, does the right thing. So for Jack to them turn the tables on the Police of Gotham and Batman, he decides to sue them into oblivion for allowing Batman to operate with impunity. They’ve metaphorically giving Batman their stamp of approval and full endorsement by having a Batsignal in which they use to get ahold of Batman when there’s trouble. While also suing Batman for committing assault and battery against Jack. Then at the same time using these lawsuits as a platform in which to paint Batman in a negative light by convincing the jury and courts, whom Batman has so much faith in, that he’s nothing but an enforcer of the Rich and Powerful of Gotham took conduct a war on the poor and downtrodden. It’s fucking God-tier levels of irony and the most genius and solid plans he’s ever concocted. Touché Jack Napier, Touché. Oh and…. NONOMACHINES SON!!!!

The reason i like this so much is because ive always thought that Bruce Wayne could do way more for Gotham as Bruce Wayne than as Batman. And Jack Napier is basically that. Batman cannot fix Gotham at its core. You need to attack the corruption at its source. I found it selfish of Batman for not giving the police department some acces to his detective technologies. It shows Batman for what he really is. And im glad to see him written as someone with flaws, unlike the perfect Gary Stu way he gets often potrayed as. Jack Napier should have won. And actually fixed corruption...but thats not gonna happen, obviously the writer wont take that risk. Batman is going to win. Although in a way Jack also won. Best Batman story.

I wonder if there is ever going to be a batman story that talks about the idea that batman uses his no killing code as an excuse and that it explores the topic deeper of batman simply enjoying the feeling of hurting criminals and moreso that he never kills his villains because he knows that once their gone he can never hurt them again. I think it'd be interesting because it could dive into the topics of Bruce Wayne's trauma because it's always talked about how he remembers that night his parents died but never gives explicit examples of how that has psychologically affected him other than comparing him to the literal criminally insane.

I would like to point out one thing. Batman is indeed an incredibly well trained fighter, no questions there. But who was the one villain that always ALWAYS gave him trouble when it was his turn to do some crime? The Joker. While the Joker isn't formally trained like Batman, he has fought against Batman, Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing, and so on for decades. fact is you'd pick up some fighting skills no matter how it goes, if nothing else muscle memory from the countless fights the two have had. Throw a lucid and arguably genius level intelligence in on a body like that, along with steroids and training (and keep in mind we have no definite timeframe between events. No idea how long it was between the scene Jack and Harley started training to the incident with the bridge to the confrontation with Batman. Give that the GTO's vehicles were up and running, and that it was several, weeks at least could have passed, if not longer. Just sayian) and an injured, desperate, and possibly Delirious batman (given everything that has happened to him thus far, parents secretly working with nazies and all can be a lot to take in) and I could see Jack being able to 'get the jump' on Batman and win. Now a perfect health and mentally stable batman, oh hell no.

nah i love this story but one thing i will say i didn’t like how napier all of a sudden under a year learned fighting styles that can whoop batman’s ass and he’s known as the mental and physical peak of society when it comes to detective skills and fighting

Hey Rob, after watching the full story of "White Knight" I actually wish Joaquin Phoenix's Joker-movie was based on this! He would be great playing this switch between flashbacks as Joker to him "present" state Jack Napier! OMG ROB CORP!!!! DON'T YOU AGREE???!!!

I don't- to hell with DC live action. I haven't given up on their animation studio, though. I could enjoy a 90 minute toon.

It's not too late for DC to go that direction and adapt this story starting Jouquin Pheonix.

I see Willem Defoe as Jack Napier/The Joker. I could see him remembering his past as The Joker in vignettes. But I see him as Jack Napier more. The Joaquin Phoenix, Joker Origin movie is a great concept though. And maybe carries on a little bit of that Dark Knight Joker.

This is just the best Bruce Wayne (Batman) and Jack Napier (Joker) story since 'The Dark Knight Returns' and 'Batman: The Killing Joke'. I want a animated film starring Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy of this.

Here is my take: As someone who is quite a bit mature than most of these people who are commenting, the Batman is probably the most interesting character in all of DC or Marvel. Maybe, Wolverine is a close second. I really don't care for DC's other characters save maybe Jonah Hex or Swamp Thing or even the Watchmen. I love the MCU though. But when it is animation, DC mostly rules. Batman The Animated Series was truly groundbreaking. And guess who was introduced in the series who wasn't originally part of the comics? Harley Quinn. The character was planned as a one off but became so popular she is now part of canon.
