The idea was borne of a deep affection for 80s/90s pop culture and the man himself, as well as deep seeded heavy music roots for all members of The (John) Candy.

No problem!! We really really enjoyed it!
You guys were sooo spot on for almost every descriptor for our music and video. We pepper in a million Easter eggs and we love contrasting humor and heavy. Literally every aspect of our music, except the vocals, is sampled. We make our music similar to how the beastie boys did it with Paul’s boutique…there are sometimes hundreds of samples. The music video is almost all AI imagery built by my text prompts, which i then edited together to form a cohesive whole. The sounds you were tying to figure out were mgmt, vanilla ice/David Bowie/queen, Chris Farley in dirty work. And yeah, our producer was an edm dj for years, so you def hear the influence 😊.

The (John) Candy are ahead of there time right now. There sound can only be explained as The (john) Candy and I think that's why they haven't blown up yet. So many people complain about there not being originality in the metal scene and then stuff like this pops up and they hate it. I cant wait to see what else they come up with.
I'm convinced these guys are just all future our alternate versions of me making music. I've wanted to start a metalcore band that uses samples since I was like 10, born in 92 ❤❤❤
I've heard them called "Sample-core" a few times. "Funky Butt Lovin" goes hard at the end with a Whitney Houston breakdown. 😂 My friends hate em, but I love these guys.
