The Job Centre: Episode 2 | Full Documentary | Reel Truth

The agency faces a crisis as four temp workers fail to turn up to work for one of their biggest clients, meaning the contract is hanging in the balance. To make matters worse, Phil is off sick, leaving Jane and the rest of the team to pick up the pieces. Carlos has also been let down by one of his workers and is under pressure to fill the role quickly, and hopes the client will be happy with their latest recruit. Meanwhile, boss Jane Vincent launches a charm offensive as she tries to win back business she lost 10 years ago.
The Recruitment Agency is a one-of-a-kind documentary looking into the world of local businesses and communities told with warmth and humour and rich in extraordinary characters who walk through the office doors in search of work. In this series we go inside Candelisa People, one of the UK’s last remaining independent recruitment agencies and follow the agency staff, clients and candidates as they get the north of England working. From minimum wage to £100k+ jobs, Candelisa will take on any client in the hope that they can secure business and keep themselves afloat. It's an intense work place but the team are like a family and matriarch boss Jane is at the helm. Jane is a one woman whirlwind and along with her loyal team she works tirelessly to woo major clients with the aim of becoming a major player in the recruitment world. We'll watch as the team go the extra mile, from creative role-playing, advice on personal hygiene to filling in the jobs themselves. This team will stop at nothing to win business, find the best person for the job and ensure their clients are happy.

I really appreciate the fact that the employer gave Becky a chance in spite of having D grade GCSEs and no previous experience. He could see she was genuine and wanted to work and he let her try. So many employers don't even let you get to an interview stage to prove yourself in person if you don't tick those first two boxes.

They're bright minds but just can't work with GCSE's so they're viewed as a D grade even though in a Practical environment they work hard and do a better than someone with straight B's in their GCSE's.

actually you're not wrong. these are low paid jobs, simple jobs, no qualifications required. Most times they don't even ask you for your cv. In the application form you have to write down the places you've worked before, but often times they don't even read those... They just have to meet the quotas. A big factory calls in tells them they need a hundred or 300 people by tomorrow morning or something like that, they put everyone they can on board.. Almost everyone can get a job like that, but it's up to them to turn up and keep the job. Many don't

If you can find it somewhere online, "The Call Centre" is an absolute gem!!! The boss had his workers up on their feet singing Mr. Brightside in the opening episode. The characters (real people, it's a documentary) are adorable and memorable. Series one was filmed in England and series two saw the company trying to expand to India. The description last week under the first ep of The Job Centre/The Recruitment Agency almost apologised for NOT being THAT popular show.
