I used to be super afraid of jinns. It was my biggest fear. It used to keep me up at night. I'm almost 19, and I left Islam when I was 17. I questioned it for almost two years and had little faith before I finally considered myself an atheist. My point is, that fear never went away. It lessened to a huge extent but it never fully disappear. Despite being an atheist, I still have my moments late at night when my mind and fears take the best of me. I'm able to rationalize my way out of it most of the time but I hate that it even happens. I'm scared of the dark as a result of my old fear. It's quite damaging teaching children that kind of bullshit. Many kids, and adults, still have that fear. I also want to say thank you for being so outspoken. I can't be, because of where I live, and I appreciate the fact that people like you speak on behalf of us who are still silenced. You voice many of my opinions. Congratulations on reaching 10,000 subscribers. You deserve many more.

A A Don't worry. You'll be fine over a period of time. Remember, nothing lurks in the darkness. Nothing at all!! You will get over with it. It's implanted in your head since your childhood. It'll be over, eventually. Science has proved, that these things are imaginary. So rest assured. If it was real in anyway, the science would have found it by now. There's no proof, or even a shade of evidence of any real harm done by these imaginary creatures. If your fears get worse, do take a help from a counsellor. He will give you some good suggestions. Then he asked me if I knew that he had the power to control them and could make them do anything he commanded, for example, cause them to attack me and my family. I found it unsettling but didn't show him that. Instead I burst out laughing and told him that even if such things existed, being Christian ensured that the Jinn were not nearly strong enough for my God. He was furious and literally screamed at me that I would see and be sorry, and rushed out of my office in a great rage! Completely unhinged! His family must go through hell with him. I pity his wife and children.

Any Muslim ever will tell you they've encountered _Jinns_ . It makes for a really good storytelling time. As an ex-muslim, I have a whole family of Muslims - including cousins. I can remember countless times from my life where my cousins have told me about Jinn stories. It genuinely is an interesting narrative, but it is no more interesting than the idea of ghosts and ghouls. I know people who have said they can or have spoken to Jinns and that they've seen them. I've heard stories of an old woman walking around the room; or hearing a little girl crying in the corner at night. These stories used to genuinely scare me. Not in the moment though - of course not - I suppose thats human nature really. We only truly fear that stories could become reality when we're alone in the darkness and the leash on our imaginations is cut, that is when these stories feel vividly real. It's like watching a horror movie really. It's an interesting story and can make us question our reality sometimes, but nonetheless, it is fiction. You should do a video on black magic too btw. My family has allegedly been 'cursed' by some sort of black magic which i outright refuse to believe. This is another mainstream belief among Muslims too.

I'm British and actually mentioned to the doctor that I was experiencing people visiting me in the night. I told him that they sat next to my bed and said nasty things to me and I couldn't speak to tell them to go away. I have a neurological issue which causes sleep paralysis, hypnagogic and hypnopompic hallucinations which are indistinguishable from reality. I can wake up and find myself in all sorts of bizarre manifestations, from conversing with (hallucinations) demons, angels and even aliens or dead people. It used to scare me so much but now it's just normal as it happens weekly and in a way I enjoy exploring these figments of my imagination and half sleeping mind.. what I'm trying to say is, nothing can harm you as they aren't real and you will be fine. For me. I know when an episode is going to occur as I get exploding head syndrome beforehand and see flashes of lightning, hisses, pops and cracks of electricity that only I can see or hear. These experiences have actually given a rather unique insight on how various religious "prophet's" or even alien abduction sufferers come out with amazing stories. I can have entire conversations with these manifestations of the mind and it frankly amazes me how they appear to have a different and distinct self. Imagine if someone had this occur to them once? They would think it really happened..

I’m 24 and Muslim and still terrified by jinns. I can’t get it out of my mind. 😢. When I go to the bathroom at night I always thought a jinn will show up in the mirror or in the dark to harm me. That kind of fear is not easy to overcome.

I'm not even Muslim, but I had a similar fear because I watched lots of videos about scary things, I hated waking up at 3:00 in the morning because I thought the ayuwoki was real and would haunt me.

I do not believe in Islam but the Torah and Bible do make reference to fallen angles who mated with human females. These might be the jinns that Ol' Moe makes reference to. After all, he did take ideas from the Torah, Babylonian Talmud and the Bible.

Gerry Grieve ahhh no. The sons of God are not angels. Read into more hebrew translations and you will know that they are humans that are called sons of God. No jew believes that story.

The biblical nephilim are, like the jinn, part of the polytheistic religions befor there books where writen and later changed to a monetheistic religion. In prejudistic time, they believed than that different tribes of humans had different, own gods, and the nephilim where sons of these gods. Imagin Herakles, Perseus, Gilgamesh. They were, in essence, demigods of other religions. Allmost all of these referneces where later cut out when the bible was rewriten time after time, giving rise to the confusion about nephilim beeing gigants way later in christianity, als well as confusions about fossils and elephant bones beeing interpreted as head of oneeyed gigants.

I used to have sleep paralysis too. I would feel a vibration when crazy stuff similar to what you described happened. I learned that when I felt the vibration, whatever was happening was a dream and I’ll wake up soon. The sleep paralysis got less frequent and severe until it stopped being shocking and stopped all together.

It was a huge surprise to me when I found out Islam considered Satan a jinn, not a fallen angel. In the Bible, Satan is an Angel of light and very beautiful and he is the "Greatest of Deceivers". That's why Christians have no concept of God deceiving people. It is Satan who lures Christians away from God with false carnal rewards.

Hi. I thought that Mohammed said he was unsure if his angel was a demon and that he suffered demonic entities around and that he did magic. Is that correct and how? Video suggestion. ❤

If I was to hazard a guess, the correlation with Jinns and dirt and filth is possibly an early understanding regarding filthy conditions and sickness. The correlation was made but the correct assumptions were not. The effects of delirium from sickness or neurological effects from parasites no doubt appeared to uneducated man that these people had become possessed or influenced by Jinn. Given how wide spread death and disease would be before modern medicine, the symptoms of having no treatment for illness and the bizarre behavior people displayed from it, no doubt convinced people the supernatural was involved in some way. If you survived a fever and explained being delirious, it probably fed further into notions of Jinn as people would explain not feeling like they were themselves. Of course, I'm speculating. There's probably better, more reliable information out there.

I have had episodes of this all my life. For as long as I can remember, perhaps even as a baby. I remember having episodes when I was 4 or 5, and just being terrified. It wasn't until I was in my late 20's when I finally learned what they are. Even so, knowing that no one is there and I am not being attacked it is still frightening, but not nearly as bad as it was when I was a kid.

I am laughing so hard... It's difficult for me to believe that, still today, people still believe in this stuff.

Actually, I kind of like when that happens where you're still dreaming but you've also woken up part way. And you're trying to do the same movements that you're doing in your dream , but you can't really do them. And you even speak a few words out loud, which are the same words that you're saying in your dream. But you have great difficulty doing it. The talking is usually the thing that jolts you out of your sleep completely. I love that because it's so weird.
